Spent a long time downloading most of Amazon's free Sue works. Waste of time. Unreadable - the content, not the format. This may have been the translator's fault - the English was even more stilted than one would expect from a long-dead writer, and the jumps in locales and characters was disengaging.

Interesting tale of indigenous people in what came to be called Gaul. On the one hand its full of what I believe to be inaccurate or at least unproven details. On the other hand, who can say there is no kernel of truth? History tends to be written by the victors in conflicts, and it is increasingly clear that Julius Caesar was neither impartial nor particularly accurate when he wrote about either his wars/campaigns, or when he wrote about the Celtic peoples he waged war against.In many ways, Celtic peoples were superior to the invading Romans (for example using iron bladed ploughs when the Romans still used wooden ones).
