Eilong's Joy of Tea gaiwan set is made by one of the world's premiere manufacturers of glass and porcelain tea ware. Known throughout Europe and in Japan, Korea, Taiwan and other parts of Asia for beautiful design and excellent function, Eilong tea ware is a perfect gift for the tea lover. This little tea set is designed for steeping tea in the Chinese gongfu style where numerous individually-steeped cups of tea are made from the same leaves. It's also great daily steeper for the office desk and home. Keep tea warm and reserve tea leaves for additional steepings. This three piece set has nesting/stacking cups and a lid. Perfect for keeping by the desk or in the cupboard at work.

Nice!
This is a very practical and attractive, modern take on the Chinese gaiwan. Unlike the much more common, Western cup with "brewing basket", the inner chamber (when stacked) is the brewing vessel, which has channels below the spout to allow the tea to pour out while the lid keeps steeped leaves from pouring into the cup. While this may not work perfectly with the fannings (dust or sweepings) which are sold as loose, Western style teas (I haven't tried, as I stopped using them after trying the real thing), it works extremely well with Asian, whole, or near whole leaf teas, and I can particularly recommend it for steeping gongfu style (steeping a large quantity of leaf with relatively small quantities of water many times over). The lid can be used on the brewing vessel when steeping, or to keep your steeped tea warm between sips. It's very easy to clean and store.

Steep tea anywhere in the gaiwan gong fu method
This all porcelain gaiwan is a great way to steep and drink tea anywhere I want to brew in the gaiwan gong fu method. Those unfamiliar with this brewing method will see this as another type of drinking cup. It's very discreet.I gave this 4 stars because the design could be ergonomically improved for pouring hot tea from the steeping vessel into the drinking cup.Plus, I have to slightly shift the porcelain lid to prevent pouring some tea leaves into the cup.Aside from that, I've made tea at work and it's a great gift for a tea enthusiast.

Best I've found the top could fit a bit tighter though
Pretty good. I wish they made the top fit a bit better but otherwise this seems to be extremely high quality and thick enough to even do whites or blacks without burning yourself. The downside with the top is sometimes you get some whole leaves in your tea and the cup can shift a bit when you are trying to decant the water from the tea.

Love it.
Looks fantastic. I have seen far more gorgeous items on the EILONG website. But they don’t let you buy singles. You got to buy in bulk. But this one looks and feels amazing. Love the color and craftsmanship. It’s the size I wanted. Coming from India I am not used to drinking anything from huge mugs. Been on the look out for a 5 or 6 oz cup and found it. Functionality - got to still test it.

low quality porcelain
At this price this should be very thin porcelain of the highest quality. It is just the opposite - quite thick. The seller is relying on the customer base to be uninformed westerners who are taken in by the cool design. It's a real shame because the design _is_ cool but they let down the designer in execution. Do not buy.

Good for solo sessions
It works well, but does let some of the finer particles through, might want to invest in a tea strainer along with it. Also, there is a small hole in the lid, for it to pour a little better, turn the hole towards the front as you pour. Not a bad little product for your solo tea sessions, but an actual gaiwan is better, but you will need a pitcher/gong dao bei/fairness cup, a tea strainer and some cups for that. This little unit fills in most of those functions well(cup and gong dao bei, that is ok as a strainer).Rinsing your tea on the 1st pour isn't a bad idea to perhaps get rid of some of those small particles.

It's a nice simple set
It's a nice simple set. I got this because I wanted to brew loose-leaf tea at work, and clean up easily. I suppose I am able to do that with this set.But it's just too small. You get 1/2 cup of tea at most. Also, the strainer could be better. It lets a few small leaves through, and the stream isn't very steady when I pour. But I suppose this comes with the territory. It works, but I don't think it is really worth $40. If I could buy again, I would spend $25 at most.
