Beautiful and functional
Good product, good design and works perfect.Reheat function is a first for me and it's great functionality to heat up your toast without any worrying about burning it.I find somewhere between 2-3 setting is perfect for me but it can be different for everyone. It looks great in our kitchen. In December 2023, Currys was selling this item 3 times more than what I paid on Amazon. It has luxurious feel to it.

Looks great functions terribly
This toaster looks great, but functions terribly. Set toaster to setting 1, came out dark (not burnt), on setting 2 and beyond it was burnt. On setting 3bI actually thought it was a fire hazard.I have subsequently returned it as faulty.

A cool customer!
I am a big fan of long slot toasters as they can accommodate the variety of loaf shapes now being produced by artisan bakers. However I have to acknowledge they do have a functional issue as identified by many reviewers of this and other models. If a slot is filled with slices then they stand a good chance of being evenly toasted. But if a single slice is toasted in the middle of a slot the edges inevitably get overbrowned because they see the full elements extending beyond its edges. The effect can be halved by placing one edge of the slice up against the end of the slot. Our solution is to cut a 4" quarry tile in half and inserting the resulting 4"x2" 'heat baffle' in the slot up against the exposed edge of the slice, see pics.Works a treat! Toaster engineers please note! This Morphy Richards long slot toaster is one of a family that comes in a number of colour ways. It's advantages include :-Identical configuration of the inner and outer element's heating wires minimising the tendency to toast one side more than the other.Cooling vents all round the 'heating engine' keeping the case cool especially around the bottom half which has an insulating cover.Controls all at one end making it easier to place for easy access.Deeper slots than our previous one evenly toasting larger slices of bread. However, the 'high lift' function isn't very high at all!The downside:-Without the 'heat baffles' isolated slices will get overbrowned edges. NOTE: Any 'heat baffles' must be made from heat resistant, nonflammable, insulating material. Ceramic tiles are ideal. The mains lead is long enough for our worktop height sockets but maybe too short in some situations. Why four stars? Because it's a good toaster but I've yet to find a perfect one!

A toaster that doesn’t like toast!
In the interests of being fair, I will say that this is a lovely looking toaster and the matt plastic parts are easy to clean. However, after just a few weeks of use the toaster started tripping the electrics to the whole house. I contacted the seller and was simply told ‘not our problem, contact Morphy Richards’. I did this, and had to wait a further two weeks for a response to my email, only to be told that this is common issue with these toasters and it happens when crumbs get stuck and it’s not covered under the warranty. The solution I was given was that I needed to shake the toaster outside every week or so.I completely understand that toasters need to be cleaned and de-crumbed every so often, but a toaster shouldn’t be tripping all the electrics a few weeks from new due to a crumb - the toaster seems poorly designed and for the price, I’m not impressed. I was also not impressed with the ‘customer service’ from either the seller or Morphy Richards. My conclusion is that if you want a toaster that looks nice but is apparently allergic to toast, then buy this. If you don’t, look elsewhere.

Very beautiful, very expensive, does not work
Undercooks the toast at setting '1' and burns it at '1.5'. Changed, and got a new one with the same problem. Don't know what the good engineers at Morphy Richards are doing about it.

Not toasting evenly and tripping house fuse!
On toast level 2 one side of the bread burnt and the other side was just coloured! It tripped the main fuse board switch on each use and the toast level switch flipped to level 8!
