Q: Is the netany flatware (item model # r/s-03) matte black or polished black? all the photos look like matte black, but the description says mirror.

Q: Are they painted ?if so can it washed off ?

They are not painted....They are mirrored stainless steel. I've had 5 utensils rust after just the 1st wash in the dishwasher. So if you purchase them I don't recommend putting them in the dishwasher.

Q: Are the steak knives actually efficient with steak?

These knives are very sharp and you will have no trouble cutting through steak. I’m happy with the product.
