Not effective
Really pooly performing product. I don't care about staples tearing through it or whatever, but it's just bad at blocking heat. Noticed when I draped it over my garage doors, I could feel more heat going through it than I felt like I should. Took out my IR thermometer to confirm and it was reading much warmer than I expected, nowhere near as good as plain kitchen foil, which I had whipped out to compare. That being said, it may not be this specific product's fault - I think metalized just performs worse than solid aluminum. I've had great luck with their other products and ultimately bought 3000 sqft of their 8 mil radiant barrier after doing a bunch of testing. But this stuff is just a waste of money.Recently I compared a bunch of radiant barrier samples over my stove on low. Kitchen ambient was 78 degrees. My IR gun reads around 400 when pointed directly at the burner. I put samples of these barriers on a rack maybe 9 inches over the stove and read the temperature from above. Note that I don't have a "reflective" setting so it's mostly reading a reflected temperature. But if it reads hot, it's a sign that the material's thermal reflectivity isn't very good. Most of them very, very slowly crept up into the very low 80s before the scrim melted. I also had a space blanket and plain kitchen foil which performed similarly to the rest. The worst barrier other than this crept up into the high 80s before the scrim melted, maybe a minute in.Then there was this product, which read 90 within seconds and kept skyrocketing. I think it hit around 140 when the scrim started melting. Just pathetic. Note that that doesn't mean it has a higher melting temperature, it just has higher emissivity (which is inversely proportional to its lower reflectivity). I think if I had stuck a piece of matte tape on these, they would read well over 200 degrees by the time they melted.

Easy tear
The product tears pretty easily. Staples will pull through it.

I've gone through great lengths over the last couple years to make my house more energy efficient and radiant barrier was the last step. I got a buddy to help (it's definitely a 2 person job) on a cool early spring day and installed 2-3 rolls of this stuff.I'm really happy that I installed this in my attic. It definitely keeps my home cooler on hot days. My wife says that our house feels like the bottom floor of a two story house (even though we're in a one story); we turn on the AC for a few minutes and it stays comfortable for hours. Also as a bonus my attic is brighter and less creepy to be in (plus it motivated me to organize everything while I was up there). :)

Radiant Barrier made a huge difference in attic temperatures
I used this against the rafters in a tiny house build and it makes an amazing difference. Super easy to cut with regular scissors and install with a staple gun. I would definitely buy again.

Good and easy to handle.
Good product easy to handle. Imbedded scrim makes it strong and helps you cut it straight. Would buy again.

Great Product
Bought this to help insulate some attic space and other parts of the house for the winter.I also have a green house area and was able to protect the plants from becoming too cold.Definitely helps to have a good pair of scissors and measuring tape to accurately outline the walls on areas you are looking to insulate.
