A step-up
I have been using the Aeroband Pocketdrum for a couple years now. I have the original, the pro and now have tried the PLUS.PROS:- noticeably less latency- the kick drum pads are an improvement from the previous designCONS:- App is overdue for updated features and expanded song library- Still experience the calibration going off track, requiring frequent recalibration.A feature request would be to be able to play the game app using the adapter to enjoy even less latency while playing. All that being said, I understand this technology is a work in progress and I have a great time using this product. It's fun, a stress reliever and can be enjoyed at any age.Looking forward to seeing how the product grows and develops furtherš

Canāt get through a song without recalibrating
It works fine for 30 seconds at a time until the kit begins to drift and you need to recalibrate. Forget about fills. If you like playing ahead slightly, youāll enjoy this one because there is a small amount of latency even after wiring my phone and speaker to the unit itself. Great concept, poor execution, not usable for recording or live projects.

Iāve never drummed before and this has been a good learning tool!
Super simple to set up and connect to phone! The lessons are very simple and are a pretty good tool on figuring out how to use them/learn some drum beats.I got on YouTube and learned the basic drumming for post maloneās sunflower. Maybe Iāll see if I can post a vid later. This has helped me learn more about the coordination needed to drum and train myself more in it!Iād recommend for anyone that wants a pretty cool gadget that will impress many of their friends, as well as those who want to learn the basics of drumming via air drumming with the sounds blasting into your ears for only you to hear.Itās so much fun! My 5 and 4 year old children enjoy playing the air drums almost daily.

Quick Demo of AeroBand PocketDrum 2 Plus
The media could not be loaded. To preface this review, I am not a drummer or percussionist. I am a guitarist with general music knowledge and look forward to using this product as a fun way to learn about drums and improve coordination between limbs. In the video, I demonstrate the basics of how the product functions and below I list my initial impressions (all my own opinions).I recently saw this product at NAMM 2023 and had a great conversations with the representative at the booth leading to the opportunity of demoing this product. Overall, the PocketDrums are a fantastic concept/idea. I would recommend this product to beginners, like myself, as I have been enjoying playing around with these sticks!Pros:Build quality is nice. The sticks have a clean wooden look to them and the plastic does not feel cheap. I have accidently hit the sticks together a few times, and so far nothing has happened. I would try not to hit the sticks, though, just incase. The pedals have a nice rubber material that feels good and responsive when using. When using the adapter with headphones, speakers, or straight into a DAW like in my video, the latency is really low. The sticks and pedals are very responsive when used in these configurations which creates a pleasant user experience.Very portable, you can take these anywhere and use them anywhere. I watched a few videos on YouTube and one guy used these in the car. Since you are not actually hitting anything with the sticks, you don't need a ton of space around you to jam out.Cons:I found myself having to re-calibrate often. Once calibrated, the sticks perform as expected. They will gradually drift out of calibration which could present issue when trying to use this product to record in a DAW. Calibration is quick, however, so if you are just having fun and not recording, this is a minor issue. The sticks come with an app. It is a cool concept with Guitar Hero style learning. In my use, I found the app to cause enough latency to lesson the enjoyment of the experience. The app needs improvements, but if you just use the sticks with the adapter and headphones, then the experience is great. The app is not needed for this product, thankfully, it is just something additional included.Summary:Again, great for beginners. I have been enjoying my time with it. I personally do not think it is suited for recording professionally, although it is nice to have the MIDI capabilities for trying out quick ideas. I encourage you to look up review videos on YouTube, there are a lot of good ones to watch that go more in depth with what this product is capable of. I would recommend this to beginners, hobbyists, and anyone looking for a fun, portable, way to play the drums.

Really wanted to love this ...
I really wanted to love this product! It's a great concept, and the physical quality of the equipment was great and I liked the feel of the sticks and the pedals. It took way longer than it should have to figure out how to get going though - for something like this it's gotta be under a minute. The instructions were not super clear on the card, one piece seemed to not come on and ended up needing to be charged, the instructions in the app were for an older version of the product (and the app itself is in desperate need of new design and usability improvements). I was able to forgive all that once once I got going as it was a joy to play and the latency was pleasantly low , but that lasted barely a minute. The "kit" seems to drift constantly, requiring recalibration too often than I could tolerate having tried to use it on multiple occasions (especially given that recalibration did not consistently put everything back in place and therefore was not a reliable reset). Good luck trying to do a roll, let alone keep a steady beat without the snare becoming a tom and the hi-hat becoming the crash (sounds funny but becomes pretty frustrating quickly). The connection to Garageband was cool in the kit options it expands (also a pain to figure out HOW to do that though), but there was definitely some additional latency when using bluetooth which was unfortunate. All in all, love the concept, and some good notes on the execution, but ultimately, it couldn't keep the basics in place.

Dated app ruins it
What a fun concept but the app for pairing and demo is horrible. It has not been updated for over two years. On startup, the instructions and animations were for older models, which really confused and frustrated me..
