This is just basic HDD enclosure without active cooling. They say that active cooling is beneficial for HDD for life span.My WD Blue 4Tb is mostly around 40 to 44c, and my case is on the table down side up so that the heat can escape through the holes on the bottom.So, for now I'm using it about 10 months and its all good. By the way I'm not opening/closing it so I don't know if that would harm the lid by not catching properly in long term.

It’s really good product, the performance and build quality good too.Just worried about the data cable, it has a unique connection so if u lose the data cable it might be hard to replace… other than that it’s good product am using it on 2tb hdd

Nicely packaged, recyclable. Looks neat on my desktop. Very (very) easy to install, in my case a Seagate 3.5" HDD took less than a minute. My disk was unformatted so I initialised and Quick Formatted it in Disk Management, again a matter of a couple of minutes, then good to go. As an experiment (looking at previous comments) I powered down my pc, unplugged the caddie from power supply, left it a few minutes, plugged it back in and restarted my computer. The caddie had to be switched on manually. Next I left the caddie plugged in to the power supply and powered down and then re-started my pc. The caddie needed to be switched on manually. Finally I left the caddie powered up and put the pc into sleep mode, then awoke it. The disk in the caddie was recognised and did not require a manual switch-on. None of this is a problem for me but I can see its relevance in a backup configuration.

I quite like this caddy.It is extremely easy to use, looks good and is a very effective way to reuse a 3.5 inch drive (you could of course also use a 2.5 inch drive).Assembly is a matter of sliding off the cover, placing the drive inside and pushing it onto the electrical connector, reclose the lid by sliding it back on, then attach the supplied data cable and mains supply, press the on/off button and away you go. Installation of a drive took me about 3 minutes and is totally tool less.Some hard drives can be a little noisy, but I found that my donor drive in this case is exceptionally quiet. The unit tells you if it is switched on via soft white LED. In fact one of the aspects I really like about this case is that it is not at all 'Blingy', it just does it's job quetly and unobtrusively. When connected to my PC or Laptop it is recognised straight away with no fuss.As is often the case with these sorts of things, the supplied data cable might benefit from being a little longer (it is about 1m in length), but this really is my only niggle. And in any case, it may well be sufficient for the majority of instances.A very nice unit that is recommended.

I found it comfortable using UGREEN (3.5 HDD Enclosure) with my hard disk.

Got this for my daughters ps4 as she was running out of storage. So put a 1TB hhd in and away it went once the ps was put onto standby it didn't seem to go into sleep mode so just turned the power off but will have a play at some point but this is the 2nd one I have now they just keep going
