Seem to be good quality, but won't fit over larger boots.
I have not really tested these pants (Helly Hansen Mens Verglas Infinity) in harsh elements, except for 0 degree windy conditions where they served as a good windbreaker. But I can't speak for their rain performance yet. What I can say, is that I find the pants very comfortable and light and easy to move in. Very little if any annoying "swish-swish" that you get with a lot of other rain pants. Getting them on and off is very easy with the 3/4 zips going up the leg. The zippers seem very good quality and are double, so you can zip all the way down to fully enclose the leg with one zipper, then zip down with the other zipper at the thigh for ventilation. The ankle cuffs feature a hook on the front that you can hook under your shoe laces. The cuff also has an adjustable closure with two snap positions to chose from. I actually like the "warm olive" color that I purchased, and it was half the price of the other options. But as you can see in the picture, it is not olive, it is bright yellow, with a mustard tint. The main limitation of these pants is that the ankle opening is small. I wear them with lightweight hiking boots (danner jags) and the pant cuff slides over the top of the boot, but I doubt they would fit over ski boots or heavy duty hiking boots. I would say trail runners, light hikers, casual shoes, light cross country ski boots-yes; heavy duty hiking/mountaineering boots, alpine ski boots-probably not. I think most unlined work boots would fit, but thicker, insulated, or really heavy duty work boots might not.I will update as I get more experience with these pants. But so far I am happy with them, and keep them in my daily carry backpack, ready for action during the cold winter here in NH.
