Phenomenal
The recipes in this book look delicious! The introduction had a trove of information. There were times equivalents weren't given. In those instances there was simply no way of giving one.I'm so excited about trying these recipes that I'm looking forward to eating what I store! There's a section with recipes for tortillas, flatbread, bread and more. I've finally found a way to get practice with my grinder. The entres were impressive in my opinion. There was a surprising amount of variety.Same with the dessert section. Some really delicious looking recipes. A few of them look so different I want to try out of sheer curiosity.Must Read!!!

Excellent Book
Please note, this is book is not intended to be a "survival" book for all those hard core bushcraft people. This book is written for those who wish to stretch the food budget better, thus surviving, or sustaining, on beans and rice. My family has tried some of the recipes, and we like them. Note, there is no meats listed in the ingredients, but it does give variation for using meats if you wish to do so. It is vegetarian based but not vegan, however, you could make the recipes vegan with substitutes for eggs, milk and such. I'm looking forward to trying all the recipes, especially the desserts, which are intriguing. This book would be great for anyone who wishes to eat well on a tight budget.

Helpful book
Book is in new condition, looks very helpful. I hope I never need the recipes for survival, but beans and rice won’t be boring as long as extras don’t run out. Some extra ingredients are a little unreasonable, but sound tasty.

great recipes but.....
The book has good information on storage and multiple uses for rice and various beans. But be aware that 1/3-1/2 of the book is note pages and are blank. The book is one of the better Beans and Rice books. Most of the others are AI click bait.

Not for prepped or survival!
This book has a lot of fantastic looking recipes, well laid out and easy to follow. However, it is marketed as a "prepper and survival" cookbook. There are only a couple recipes I would consider fitting into this category. While they look great, majority of the recipes use too many fresh produce and uncommon spices that would not be feasible in a true survival situation.

Receipes are important
I saw criticisims that there were too many receipes compared to prepping and storage. Prepping and storage info requires maybe a page. What to do with it, that's vital. I learned that the hard way with wheat and lentils. 😝 I love that the receipes are written for non meat eaters, my g- daughter, but also offers meat suggestions so everyones needs are covered. All in all I think it's a great little book. Bought as gifts for my kids.

You can make delicious and nutritious meals using beans and rice.
Dave Ramsey, the financial guru, tells debt ridden people to 'eat rice and beans' to cut their spending. While not literal advice, you can use simple, basic, foods like beans and rice as the basis of healthy, cheap, yet delicious meals. Millions of people around the world subsist on rice, and beans are a good source of protein. This book gives you many ideas on how to prepare such meals. I like to make rice and beans (with vegetables and a meat source) several time a week and not just for economic reasons. I haven't gotten tired of it yet.
