Don't much about the book except the person purchased for was excited and thoroughly enjoys the book. I work too hard daily, and the last thing I am looking for before or after work is paying someone to let me become greater soreness.

Short and to the Point
I have been working out for about 2 years now and was looking for something to help take me to this next level. This book is exactly what I needed! Very easy read with tons of photos to help you understand the exercises he is referencing. This is a jewel of a book.

The reproduction of this classic is cheap and disturbing but the book is a classic every bodybuilder should have in his library

This is a Great Book
I was given this book 20 years ago when I started seriously lifting. It got misplaced in a recent move, so I looked for it online and behold, there it was. Dr. Franco Columbu isn't just a world class champion in every competition worldwide, but he holds several degrees and is highly intelligent. He covers all aspects of weightlifting, strength training and nutrition. There are separate chapters for beginners, intermediate, advanced intermediate all the way up to championship competition.NOW, I must warn you this book was written in 1977 so if you want something newer, this isn't for you. BUT if you want results BUY this book. The wisdom and knowledge contained within its pages hold true even today., well except the part where he says finding bottled water might be hard to get. LOL

Stands the test of time.
I first found this book about thirty years ago, when some of the concepts presented were, shall we say, outside of the norm. Not being a competitive bodybuilder, I settled on the Intermediate workout and, as Mr. Columbu says, I got better in every sport that I was participating in. This is still a great workout, and at age 60 now, the light weight, high repetition Intermediate routine is perfect for me. It combines cardiovascular, flexibility and strength training in one routine. The section diet is still relevant, though less so for me now, as I have been a vegetarian for many years. I already have two copies of this book and bought a third recently for a friend. Yes, it is a bit dated, and there are some new takes on weight training, now but still a great resource.

not the original book.
Love the audibles version! I bought this book originally decades ago. Purchased again recently and it looks like a copy of the original non color and smaller. Get the audible Franco goes through each chapter and adds insights of time.
