My Book of Beautiful Oops!: A Scribble It, Smear It, Fold It, Tear It Journal for Young Artists

Cute but difficult
I love the idea of this book, but the paper is slick cardstock. So the types of art supplies that can be used are pretty limited and not necessarily stuff I can let my 4 year old use without a lot of effort (permanent markers? Paint markers? Seems like anything else would just smear immediately.)

Great way to encourage creativity
My son already loved the original Beautiful Oops book. This one allows him to use his own creativity to turn the "mistakes" into "something beautiful"... and he loves it even more! It has been fun to watch him flip through the pages of the book, pondering the possibilities, and then get so excited when his ideas turn out exactly the way he imagined them. Drawing is not his strength but this book is teaching him that drawing is still fun even when it is not perfect. So great!

Great Quality, Engaging, Worth the buy!
This book is so much fun and engaging! I have two daughters, 10 and 5 years old. This book was purchased to give to them as a Christmas gift. The book has thick cardboard pages, very nice quality, with lots of color to inspire creativity and imagination. I thought I was purchasing a book to read to my daughters without realizing, until the book came, that it was SO much more! I am very pleasantly surprised to find that it is both a book and canvas for my girls to create and imagine. I am purchasing a second one so that both of my daughters can have their very own. I am excited to see what creations they come up with. Such a fun idea!

Well made and fun, 12yr old approved
I bought this for my 12 yr old art obsessed niece and she really liked it. I was impressed with rmthe book myself and the quality was great. It looked like alot of fun and will buy it for other kids in the future. I try not to give to many 5 star reviews and reserve them for products that really wow me.

This book is made of heavy cardboard, not paper
Very disappointed. This book is made of thick cardboard, with some pages double glued together--super thick. The images are shiny. That means a child cannot use crayons or watercolors--they don't adhere. Markers will stay wet and smear. And any attempt to cut the thick pages needs a lot of strength and in some cases where the pages have been doubled up, is impossible. My 7 year old grandson was very excited about the book, but after a failed attempt to draw with crayons and then cut shapes with scissors he just gave up. We will find ways to use it, but it will never be the fun journal that we anticipated.

Wonderful Idea and lots of fun
Bought this for my almost 7 year old granddaughter, who likes things to be correct, and she LOVES it. Imagine being able to write in a book - tear, paint, color, and use your imagination to try to make the mistakes beautiful, or interesting. It is a great find.

Needs to be made in a different type of paper to woek
It’s a lovely book, but you need sharpies to be able to draw on the pages, as normal felt tip pens don’t work.
