The difference between these made in China and the original ones that are made in South Korea is that the first layer consisting of carbon , and it being the most important layer , is that the original filter has a thicker layer of carbon than the generic- prolonging the lifespan of the filter more than these generic ones.You can detach the first filter stage made of carbon easily because it’s attached with Velcro to the outer frame and replace it with a “Cut to fit” carbon sheet that you cut from the roll of carbon that makes about 4-5 carbon pre-filters of that size .There are many companys that make “Cut to fit carbon” for filters , and cost about $6.99 to $10.99. for a whole roll . An inexpensive way to extend the life of your primary full filter.

Too big for my unit. I had to cut off some of filter to make it fit. My unit filter should have been 12 x 1.5 x 11.5 inches. I see my unit is 8400, which my replacement was unavailable, but Amazon showed this as replacement. But this filter is for 8500.

You should give dimensions. It looked the same but was too large. I couldn't find another one on your site that gave the size.

I can't find the original filter anywhere so I took a chance on this one. It fits my machine just like the original filter. It is working fine.
