Good for Strength Training
The Deluxe Eagle Catcher has plastic-coated finger grips to cushion the stress created when the fingers pull the springs. I gave the exerciser 4 stars instead of 5 because I bought it more for finger therapy than for strength development. The spring tension is quite strong. I am not sure if I will ever be able to close my fingers into a fist while engaging all 5 springs, but this is what my therapy requires. Once my fingers recover from their injury, I expect this exerciser to become a regular addition to my daily exercise routine. While in high school 45 years ago, I had the predecessor to this exerciser: a steel ring with leather finger straps attached to the springs. The springs in the predecessor did not provide as much tension, but I preferred it that way because of the greater range of finger motion. I am thinking of buying the metal version of the Eagle Catcher to see how it compares to this synthetic version.

very strong...good for rock climbers...I guess
This thing is definitely going to make you finger muscles stronger...if you can move those hooks at all.I've rated it 3 stars only because it is not of much use to me, and I was misled to believe it would also make a good finger training for musicians. Wrong. The product looks and feels well built and probably worth the money for whoever plans to break rocks with a hand grip.Way too strong for my taste. But that's just me.

DONT even CONSIDER
NOTICE : you Cant get multiple reps going for many reasons , the main one being the springs are to close where youre fingers go. Even with maximum finger strength before buying this wouldnt matter, to many flaws. The frame also feels like it cant handle itselfWhen I really try squeezing it. I WILL, HOWEVER, admit it does hurt your fingers though. But in a I feel like im going to get premature onset athritis because im ( even though ur not ) somehow doing this wrong.GET a grip on something else, definitly not worth an Abraham Lincoln - let alone 25$+.

Strong springs, plastic frame.
I purchased this and the regular eagle catcher as xmas gifts thinking that because my husband already uses 300 lb hand grips the regular one wouldn't be strong enough. I was right; he can still squeeze this one but it is quite a bit more difficult! The only downside is that the frame on this one is plastic. It has a bit of give when the hooks are pulled and my husband is worried he's going to snap it. I would cushion the hooks a bit for regular use, and be aware that even though this one is MUCH stronger than the regular version, the outside frame is plastic whereas the inside hooks and springs are metal.

Better Grip Strength
All though this is a great product it can be akward and you cannot increase the spring tension for working out on increased grip strength.

It's okay!
I prefer the ring shaped frame as it spreads the fingers more. I have a larger hand and this item is better for a smaller sizes.

Rehabilitating
As someone else said, these springs are strong, and I can squeeze a bathroom scale past 300 lbs. I paralyzed my hand from pinched nerves in my back and coudn't hold a pencil. I bought this after seeing it in a movie and replaced the strong springs with some short thick rubber bands. Very good full finger and thumb range of motion, much better than anything else I've seen. Good for rehabilitating. I will gradually work up to putting the spring back by adding additional rubber bands.Dan

Didn't really like it to really get the full movement you would ...
Didn't really like it to really get the full movement you would need a mechanical hand to use this
