Great small EDC knife
This is a fantastic pocket knife, super sharp, fits perfectly in the hand and opens quickly and smoothly with a solid click when it hits the lock. Great action! The only nitpick is that the liner lock can be hard to release (they made it too flush in the finger groove, a 1/16" further out would fix it) and maybe that the scales are a little bit too slick, making it easier to drop when opening. But those are minor on such a good knife otherwise.Aus-8 steel is just good enough for EDC, better, harder steel would cost more (and would hold it's edge better but, it would be harder to sharpen). It is very sharp out of the box, and easy to keep razor sharp with minor touch ups. And you won't cry if you break it or lose it.I'm definitely going to buy the larger RAT- 1 (4" blade) as well. This is the sweet spot for a 3" blade for EDC as far as price, form, fit and function are concerned. You can spend more for better, but you really don't need to.

The best value EDC knife on the market.
For the price tag, this knife exceeds expectations. The Aus-8 blade comes razor sharp and the blade shape is excellent. Holds an edge fairly well and sharpened easily on my Sharpmaker. Deployment is very smooth and the frame lock is easy to manipulate. The pocket clip is 4-way positionable. It's light weight and has an ergonomic grip (i wear medium gloves). Lanyard hole is adequate for paracord. Adjustable pivot. What's not to like? the scales are fairly smooth and the liners are very thin, but the construction is sturdy enough to confidently carry this knife on a daily basis.

Great for EDC
I bought this knife because I was looking for a cheaper knife to EDC. I usually alternate between a Benchmade Mini Griptilian and a Spyderco Delica 4. After almost a year with those two knives I realized how scared I was to get them banged up or scratched since they both cost over $50. With what I use my knives for they don't take too much abuse. The usual packaging tape, cardboard, twine, and some occasional fruit is all they are used for. After watching and reading several reviews on how great the Rat 2 is I decided to try it out. Out of the box the knife blade was razor sharp and the ergonomics felt very good. The AUS 8 is a cheaper steel but works fine for my tasks. I am very satisfied and impressed with the overall build quality especially for the price. In my opinion it is a very handsome looking knife. It is priced just right to the point where I don't feel paranoid of dropping or banging it up. 5 out of 5 from me.

The best budget knife out there
The Okc rat 1 and 2, either in Aus 8 or D2, are both amazing knives and very damn tough. I love these knives and are damn tough knives lol. My dads beaten the hell out of his Rat 2 yet it still goes with him everywhere everyday

Easily the best budget knife you can get
This is easily one of the best knives you can get for any price range. There are lighter knives, there are knives with better steel, there are knives with better locks but for the price this is the best pocket knife you can get. It opens way smoother than it really has any right to, it feels solid in the hand, the lockup is good, it holds an edge you can shave with, you can replace everything on it should something break and you can configure it for left or right, tip up or tip down carry very easily provided you have the right torx screw driver. It's even small enough to be legal pretty much anywher ein the US.There are better knives but there is no knife this good for this little. It's one of the best bargains in the knife world hands down.

2 years of EDC, still a dream
I've carried this knife almost daily for 2 years, including an 8 month overseas deployment. It is small, lightweight, sharp out of the box and easily re-sharpened. This has been in my pocket in snowy mountains, jungle swamps and scorching deserts and has not disappointed yet. The stainless blade has not rusted despite being soaked for days at a time, but the inner metals parts are showing some signs of rust. The catch mechanism is still tight after daily use and there is no blade wobble at all. I have used this as a small hammer with the blade closed and it has held up to the abuse well. I did upgrade the pocket clip to a deep pocket clip because I did not like the original. The blade sharpness also lasts a while, but is easily resharpened to shaving sharp with a quick stone/honing. Overall I will be carrying this for as long as it holds up and then I'll likely buy another one because the price is great for such a durable long lasting product.Pros*Small, lightweight (Opens MREs as well as a Ka-Bar without the added wieght)*Sharp and easily sharpened*Blade is good stainless(No rust despite sitting in my wet pockets for weeks in the jungle)*Solid Locking mechanism, no wobble yet*Solid Construction (an OK hammer when blade is closed)*Great Price (less than $30)Cons*Pocket clip not my style, but easy to upgrade/modify*inner metal liner starting to rustOverall 4/5, not perfect, but definitely worth the price point and I would certainly buy again!

Ontario Rat II

Boris
