Information is good, actual book is cheap and pages falling out first time the book was opened
The actual physical book is falling apart. From the first time the book was opened pages just fell out. It's impossible to even read the book, every time a page is turned or even touched the spine cracks and the page just falls out. Ended up having to hole punch and transfer every page into a binder to read it. The information in the book is great but I didn't pay for a build-a-book.

Good first book about reining
I knew nothing about reining when I bought this book. I found it fun to read, loved the pictures, and definitely learned something. I gained an appreciation of the sport. I didn't know what to expect from a book published by "Western Horseman", but I was impressed because the book was better than I had hoped for. Better layout, publishing, etc. I would definitely buy another book by "Western Horseman" again. My only complaint about this book is that it spent a lot of time in the beginning talking about how to select (as in buy/purchase) a good reining horse. It talked about good physical features and body type of the horse. This was not helpful to me because I already had a horse - my horse.

Great photos
This book is worth it for the photos. The training methods are average, with not enough focus on the subtle and important body language that makes a horse so responsive and collected. The old method of 'using the fence' to turn a horse or stop is I believe on the way out. Nevertheless, reading this book gives some good pointers. I would not recommend it for a beginner without a trainer who can judge and guide the various methods of teaching slide stopping, spins and turnbacks.Author of Roses and Locoweed: The Life of a Cowboy's Wife

World Class Reining
This is a good book to add to your library. It has a little bit of everything in it, from the what is Reining to the how to's. Not sure if it would help the experiance Reiner, but it was a good read.

Excellent!
This book was so helpful to me! When it comes to trying to teach your horse to rein, this book helps so much! And it teaches you much more besides the basics of reining! It's a great book i would recommend it for anyone!
