Simple fix for stupid mistake
I knew the temp was going to drop into gen 20s but forgot to turn the irrigation water off. Next day saw the water dripping from the backflow valve. Purchased this and put the o-ring on, replaced the cracked part and no more leak! Blew out the system and shut I down for the season knowing I would not have to deal with a problem in the spring!!!

Works great!
I've seen a lot of people comment that this is cheap and fails... 1. It is the exact replacement that I needed. Everything fits perfect. 2. You need to ensure you use the silicone that is provided and it is tighten down all the way until the rubber gasket is seated. 3. Do not over tighten or it will break (it's plastic and is meant to break). 4. The entire reason this exists is to break if it freezes so make sure you get your sprinkler systems blown out before it freezes each year. Also make sure you loosen the bleeding valve at the bottom so water doesn't stay in the valve assembly. Over all, great product and I hopefully will not have to replace again.

Great if you want a water fountain
I forgot that you cannot just put the water on full tilt at the end of the winter and blew out my bonnet. So I order a new one, and just put it in today. After slow pressurizing the system successfully and having the backflow pressure "pop" into place, I started the sprinkler. You can see the result.I will note, the vertical screw to hold the cap on is much smaller in diameter and snapped off compared to my old one. That is not the cause of this, but I suspect it speaks to the quality of the item. This freaking thing is really expensive for what it is, and for it to not work is frustrating.5/13/22 update: I got a new one from a different manufacturer. The difference and the point of failure was immediately apparent. The one without the screw on top is the one reviewed here. If you look close inside, the spring is a much heavier gauge. I would say it takes 3x the force to close. Apparently, my city water pressure is not that high (I would classify it as "normal"), so it cannot close and hence the spewing of water everywhere. The seller has graciously offered via multiple venues to refund my money, which is a good sign, kudos to them. I have no ill against the seller. Just looks like a design flaw to me. Hopefully they can fix it and maybe I will try again when I break my current one.

Thinner and cheaper than others
This worked as a replacement, but it was noticeably thinner and more likely to break soon. The post and the the screw that holds the top bell is VERY thin metal and will likely fail. Good for a quick fix, but I anticipate buying a new repair kit next season as there is no way this will last through the winter freeze.

great product
Easy to install

Perfect replacement part for our sprinkler system.
The original was displaced by a winter freeze. I then discovered that an o-ring also failed. This is an exact replacement and easy to install.

Worked Perfectly!
This is the first time I have tried to repair my Febco Backflow Device and it was easier and less expensive than I thought.

Why are these thing so dang expensive
What can I say, I broke the other one I had and needed a replacement. My sprinkler system was dead without it. thankfully I found this on Amazon and it worked out great. Its just amazing, though, how much these things cost for what you get.
