Works fine on craftman yt3000 lawn tractor
Son was mowing the lawn and ran out of gas mid mow. Refilled the tank and the mower wouldn't turn over. I thought he had just flooded it, so we took out the spark plug, dried it off and let it sit for a few. Well, that wasn't the problem. So after checking to see if none of the safety switches (seat, deck, brake, ect) weren't preventing start up, we pulled out the multimeter and started snooping around. Power stopped at the solenoid so here we are.We used this replacement on a sears craftsman yt3000 with a 46" deck. The bolts on top were larger than the old and I was feeling lazy so we just used a die grinder on the cable lugs to boar a larger hole to fit on the bolts. Lawn mower started right up, no issues.

Studs are larger
I really should have paid more attention to the other reviews about the stub size. They were larger than the original one in my older Craftsman mower. Enlarging the holes to the cables were not that big of a deal for me, but others may find it challenging. If anyone is reading this, look at the bag of hardware that comes with it. The 12v connectors that operate the solenoid are bolts where the original have spade lugs. I wasn't paying attention, so I adapted my mower wires to match the bolts on the solenoid. Silly me, the hardware bag had adapter spade lugs! Again, nothing major, but it would have saved some time and effort. Other than that, it works fine.

Stud Size Should Be Listed
My original Craftsman solenoid 145673 has 1/4 " studs; this solenoid has 5/16" studs. Original cables have openings for 1/4 " studs. I returned the solenoid rather than modify the cables.

Fit and quality
Went on without a hitch. Had to change out the original wire ends for heavy duty ones. This is a heavy duty solenoid for a yard tractor and the piece and parts kit that comes with is great

Quality but prepare to drill
This is a quality built solenoid; however, the posts for batter and to-starter WILL be larger than the original on your Craftsman mower. No sweat though.... simply drill your wire fittings larger accordingly. 5 min job.
