Traditional 240v Filament Spot Bulbs
We've had a Mathmos Lava Lamp for about 25 years and it was still on only it's 2nd bulb.Finally it blew, and the problem these days is most bulb manufacturers have switched to low energy and LED bulbs which don't generate enough heat for a Lava lamp.Thankfully, some people are still making them... such as those being reviewed here.They work fine and our lava lamp is back in all it's retro beauty.Only thing I've noticed is the lamp seems a bit more 'active' than it used to be so it could be that these bulbs are operating a little hotter than what we've had previously, which makes me worry how long they'll last in a confined space with little ventilation. Time will tell.
