OmanheneAll Natural, Single Origin Cocoa Powder, non-alkalized, 7 Ounce Canister (Pack of 4)

This cocoa powder is lighter in color than most (kind of a warm tan) but has a wonderful chocolate flavor closer to rich, smooth milk chocolate than bitter dark chocolate. If you are avoiding this because it is not dutch-process, know that the quality of this particular cocoa outweighs any such labels. It makes the best hot chocolate I've ever had, short of hot chocolate made of actual melted chocolate. It worked great in baking as well and I had no problems with leavening when using a recipe calling for dutch process. Despite the light color of the cocoa, cupcakes baked up to a very dark color just as you would get with dutch process cocoa but the flavor was superior.

I really wanted to like this cocoa. Because of all the good reviews, perhaps it was just a bad package. I bought the 4 pack. The expiration day is May 2016. I opened the first one when I got it in early spring. Loved it, delicious! We don't use much in summer and when I went back to it this fall ( with lid on tight) it had gone bad, extremely stale tasting and lacking any flavor. Had to throw away. I blamed myself. Opened a second one, used, delicious! Went to use again today after 3 weeks and it was already bad. I left it in the container, lid on tight, not near heat, have never had this happen with any cocoa before and storing in same place as I have for years. Has been wasted money for me.

This may be the best cocoa in the world but they should have allergy information in the description. Had to send it back for refund. My grandson has a peanut allergy so I could not us it.

I am happier with this cocoa than Hershey's, but not as impressed as the other reviewers. I will use it in recipes where cocoa is not the main focus.

I haven't tasted this product yet. At least in the way I would LIKE to taste it. Perhaps the best way I can help anyone else with this product is to provide what I would like to have had printed on the label of this can:WARNING!, WARNING!, WARNING: CONTENTS MAY BE UNDER PRESSURE. OPEN WITH GREAT CARE AND CAUTION.Or if you must open this can, point the area of the can that will first be exposed to the air AWAY FROM YOU, much like a gun. I did not do this, unfortunately.First, for whatever reason, I was in our bedroom at the foot of our bed. I was anticipating smelling the aroma of the chocolate, just to see if there was any unusual smell. When the factory seal came loose at the closest point to my face, the pressure finished the opening with an explosion of about 1/3 cup of cocoa. Into my face it went, all over the front of my shirt and onto the blankets of the bed and floor. I called my wife back and said "Do you think I have a complaint with someone?" After surveying the new face she had to look at, she said she thought I did.My verdict on this product is still not decided for its taste in my hot chocolate cup. But judging from the raw cocoa in my mouth, I would say I won't have to sweeten it too much.

I needed a Non-Alkaline cocoa for baking a special chocolate sandwich cookie.This product fit the fit the bill to a tee. The flavor was superb, both in the wafer and in the filling, mild, yet distinct chocolate flavor .It arrived quickly and the cans were consolidated in a plastic overwrap.Living 7500 feet above sea level I am well aware of the explosive nature of sealed powders (learned this most recently with baby formula) thus I refrigerated the can overnight and opened it slowly (not a requirement for sea level).This product has great flavor and is the "go to" for recipes requiring a Non-Alkaline based product, using regular Hershey's Chocolate in certain recipes leads to a tough texture in in cookies and baked goods.

Best cocoa powder, dissolves easily, does not sink to the bottom of the cup, really intense chocolate flavour

The flavor is not particularly rich and chocolaty. Western Family Cocoa is much better and much less expensive. I will not give up on "Fair Trade" cocoa, so will try others.
