excellent!
these SMARTDISC discs are media code RITEKF1. i burn them with a PIODATA DVR-S21DBK DVDR drive, and have failure rate at less than .5% - really no coasters at all. the surface finish is smooth and beautiful. these discs from SMARTDISC are my preferred brand. such a bargain - love em!

Used to be good...HORRIBLE now !!
I used to use white inkjet printable DVDs, but when I saw these silver ones they reminded me of other silver printable DVDs that I had used in the past and which I loved because when you printed a label on them they looked like a store bought DVD. I switched from the white printable to these for the last few months and they were pretty good. They had a few more bad discs than the white inkjet printables, but at 200 discs I just ignored it. That is...until now. Something has definitely changed. The last 2 batches of these disc had so many defective discs that at first I thought my DVD burner had gone bad. On top of that, I suddenly had customers emailing me and telling me that their discs wouldn't play even though my disc writing software had said the disc burned successfully at the time. This was especially prevalent on customer orders of multiple disc sets. I'd get emails saying that disc 4 or disc 2 of a particular set would not play despite attempts in a variety of DVD players. This massive deterioration in the quality of these discs came to a head the other night when literally every other disc and sometimes multiple discs in a row could not complete the disc writing process. Quite a number of them would get to around 65% to 75% completed and then just stop with my disc writing software (2 of them) saying the disc was defective and could not complete the writing process!Having to get orders out quickly, I went back to my old white inkjet printable discs which I've used to print literally hundreds of discs with the number of bad discs you could count on one hand and still have fingers left. I've been using my old reliable white inkjet printable discs again and have not had one bad disc yet. These silver printable discs have cost me money and customers, so if you plan on using these for your business I strongly caution you not to.These were pretty good when I first started using them a few months ago, even though they still had about 4 bad discs per batch of 200. However, The last 2 batches (400 discs) had so many defective discs that I lost count and I will never use them again.Sadly, these seem to be the only silver printable discs that I can find. If any of you happen to know of a brand of silver printable DVDs, please let me know. In the meantime, for those of you who may want to know which white printable DVD discs I use which are extremely reliable, here they are: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00DVPJ7ZK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1** Update. In the past week since I originally wrote this review, I've been contacted by yet 3 more customers saying that their discs are defective!! **

Perfect Quality
I like to make copies of my DVDs to take to the car so the originals won't get stolen if the car is broken into, these work great for that. They are easy to use and they play back perfectly.

Entire Spindle Bad!
Entire spindle was bad. Disc all had discoloration on the writable side. None of them would read in my DVD burner, much less write. The print quality was pretty good, but being unable to actually burn data to the disc kind of defeats the purpose.

A photographer’s necessity...
My grandson, the photographer, uses discs to send out images to his customers, display his work, store data and images for his use, etc. After discovering that many are not as computer literate as he would wish, he’s come to rely on good quality discs such as these to relay his work. The quantity makes these a really good buy.

Working Well, So Far
These DVD-Rs are working well, given that we have only recorded a few discs so far. I waited until we could see the quality, on films, and, so far, the color is as good as on my other brands of DVD-R, as is the recorded sound and the playback. These are a nice budget brand and I can recommend them to anyone burning a lot of discs. They are budget friendly and work well. Good luck finding what will work for your needs.

Great for Music or other media
I save all my music on these to play in the cars. The sound is superior, the durability is great for playing them over and over. Saving data to these discs is great for extra storage you can access quickly.

Great price, great quality playback
You just can't go wrong here. Great quality and great playback. The price is more than fair.
