Q: Just got mine and there are tons of post-manufactured grease inside. How do you clean it out?

I would use hot water a brush that would fit inside and some kind of soap and then rinse them very well afterwards

Q: Is this real stainless steel? Meaning if I cut it short, it will still be protected from rusting...

Getting a deeper tank. Quit trying to change stuff

Q: Are both the intake and outflow the same size? With an Eheim filter the intake is 16mm and the outflow is 13mm.

They are the same size. I use these with an EHEIM pro 4+ 600 and they fit the tubing fine. Any 5/8 tubing works with these and the eheim filter.
