Ultimate Off-Road Driver's Guide (Performance How-to)

Dave is well known in the off-road clubs of the South-East of the US - he also runs a 4WD school and he's a great teacher (I know from personal experience).His book is up to date (not recycling 20 year old material) and is not focused on a specific car brand, or a specific region of the US. It's easy to access, well written, with many descriptive pictures. It's a great book for people who are new to the sport, and a good way to revisit the basics from time to time for those with more experience. Recommended.

Great book for beginners to advanced off-roaders and Jeepers.

Each section was well covered in a way that is easy to understand.

This an excellent source of information for those interested or participating in off-road activities. The illustrations with captions are unusually well done and loaded with important tips and techniques. The chapter discussing driving techniques is a must read. Other chapters cover navigation, communication, and vehicle modifications. The chapter on winch use is very comprehensive. Good stuff and highly recommended.

I was hoping for more in depth info, but still a good introduction for beginners mentioning all the basics.

Very pleased with this purchase. It really gave me a hands-on look at what I'll need to do to prepare and execute my upcoming off-road excursion. Highly recommended!
