WangSun-Dried Coarse Gochugaru for Kimchi, Red Pepper Flakes, Chilli Powder, 1 Pound

I like the flavor of chili, but I can't take the heat! At least I can't take too much heat. These gochugaru flakes are a great alternative to chili flakes because they are not nearly as spicy but have a great smoky chili flavor. I add four or five times as much of these as the chili flakes I used to use, which means I get a lot of flavor and color without making my food too spicy for me to eat! Also, eight ounces is a big container (bigger than a Coke can), so even though I use a lot, these will last me for a while, which means these are great value for money, too.

This arrived fresh and I use it on rice bowls, pickled cucumber, eggs, and noodle dishes. Not very spicy for my taste, but that works for me because I can use this when making food for others in the house who do not like a lot of spiciness. Adds great color and a fresh pepper flavor.

It is not that hot but adds a bunch of flavor to your meals.

Good flavor. Not spicey at all. More "flake" than expected.

I ordered this because I wanted to try making kimchi. So I did make it and this pepper really added a nice spicey-hot flavor. There's a lot in the bottle which can be used for other assorted recipes that need a hot kick.
