Excellent Quality Laser Engraver (5.5w)
The media could not be loaded. Ā General OverviewThis laser engraver was primarily purchased to aid with fundraising for my sonās scouts trip to Korea in 2023 we intended to purchase products to customise or make items from scratch where possible.I had already purchased a 5.5w laser for my comgrow 3018 cnc and was aware of limitations of laser within this power range. The kit came very well packaged and all items needed to build were present including spanners, allen keys, tie wraps etc.It took me around 30min to build, but have got experience in building 3D printers previously. The manual was fairly clear, but some sections could do with enlargement for ease of reading, and liked the fact they included āBonusā steel sheet to allow you to start engraving straight away.Kit QualityThe overall quality of the kit is excellent much better than previously purchased laser engravers albeit this kit has higher price tag.All extrusions mated correctly with no gaps or overlaps, all screws aligned correctly which made for easy assembly.Another thing to note is this kit is less than 4kg so if like me you have to move around occasionally its very light.System ElectronicsThe one thing I particularly like about this engraver was how silent it was compared to previous 3D printers / CNCās Iāve owned I did not full inspect drivers or mainboard but generaly movement and stepper noise is virtually silent, even when pushing engraver to over 100mm/s it remained quite.I did however noticed the machine would move under rapid axis changes and decided to 3D print some basic brackets to hold it all together nicely, including purchasing laser engraver mesh which defiantly helped with overburn. This was the first laser engraver purchased that had endstops which worked really well for repeat project engraving.SoftwareI had already purchased a license for lightburn for use with my comgrow cnc/laser but was nice to see default profile settings for this laser including material settings etc.CuttingWhilst this laser at 5.5w is relatively low power it will cut through materials with some patience, I managed to cut the below projects out which align with attached pictures. This laser has a 0.08mm cut ensuring very clean edges.Storage box - 60m / 10mms / 100% (Power) 3mm PlywoodHouse Keys Keyring - 10m / 5mms / 100% (Power) 3mm Black AcrylicEngravingThis machine is sold as an engraver, and this is where this laser excels, the laser has an 0.08mm cut ensuring clean sharp edges when laser etching.Placemat - 15m / 100mms / 75% (Power)Various keyrings - All less than 5min / 30-50mms / 30-50% Power (All hardwoods)Final ThoughtsI would recommend this laser engraver to people just starting out the easy setup and quality of product ensure no false starts or problems experienced with cheaper brands, my only minor negative comment would be the omission of cable drag trains to ensure cables remain out of the way.

A5 M50 Pro
Very happy. Only Cuts though 5mm at mo. Not needed to cut thicker yet. But does it easy. Obviously remember to slow speed and power at 100% to cut

Great for a novice like me š
Easy to set up and using the software they advise you to use made my first etching (pictured above) fairly satisfactory. I'm looking forward to trying something more complicated.

Learn to use the software, and this is magic
I bought this as an upgrade over my Atomstack A5 M40. And what an upgrade! The best bits are:Offline engraving - you can load your design onto the included memory card, slot that into the controller and run it via the touch screen. This is so much better than leaving my laptop connected for hours.Limit switches - I made several positioning jigs for my old laser as it didnāt have limit switches. However this one has limit switches and auto-homes on startup, so you never need to work out where the X0/Y0 coordinates are or build positioning jigs.Twice as fast - The laser is twice as powerful as my old one (10W vs 5W), so I can run it twice as fast, cutting job times in half. Job done!Better cutting - I donāt cut with my lasers, but I know people who do, and the M50 has a pretty decent cut depth.Like any laser engraver, you do need to learn to use whatever software you choose to use. There are two main contenders, one is free one one is paid; both have loads of how-to videos on youtube. Atomstack also has official groups on Facebook where there is tons of support from both users and the people who work for Atomstack; Iāve picked up loads of tips which allow me to really unlock the potential of this laser. I love it!Cons: Doesnāt come with safety glasses

ATOMSTACK A5 M50 PRO Laser Engraver, Fantastic product
I donāt often leave reviews, but felt I had to with this purchase. First of all this is my first Laser cutter/engraver and I have to say it was easy to assemble and easy to operate. The customer service sent me an email saying about updating the firmware to allow using an app, the video showing how to update is essential to watch as the update procedure is in Chinese, I successfully updated but then found the display screen was in Chinese, so sent customer services an email and got a very fast response explaining how to change the language back to English. I have to say the customer service team are excellent and very fast to respond. I would definitely recommend this product and the customer service provided.

Cutting ?-forget it
A5 m50 pro ,great for engraving but not cutting ,need about 8 or 9 passes ,which can take hours on 2mm thick wood and even then doesn't always cut thru ,and that is using air assistSays can easily cut 12 mm wood -forget itAtomstack support is a waste of time ,tried contacting them to ask if my machine could be faulty as they say on their site it easily cuts thru 20mm wood and just get a response of we can't find your order using your details ,please provide your order number

High quality laser, very well made.
I was very pleasantly surprised with the quality of engravings. Great for wood but not only. Recently they have added the functionality to operate the engraver through an atomstack app. Highly enjoy my lightburn projects. Recommended!
