Easy to use TDS sampler
This is SO easy to use. Turn it on, take the cap off, dunk the end about an inch into water, and read the TDS (total dissolved solids). Push the "Mode" button to cycle through TDS to conductivity (in micro Siemens per centimeter - why not in micro mhos? That's really my only complaint about the device), Temperature in C, Temperature in F. That's it! Case is convenient with belt clip. I'm using this with my work, just as a ballpark sampler at client sites - if the TDS is high, I'll recommend a quality third-party water quality test. If the TDS is low, I won't recommend that. It's not NIST quality, but for the price, it's a great rough estimate.

Good little meter.
I wanted this meter because I just had a reverse osmosis system installed. I checked it beside the technician's professional meter, they weren't exactly the same, but only a point or two different.I wouldn't use it if I were professionally testing water, but for the typical home use, it does the job nicely. It is easy to use, turn it on, chose the units you are testing for, stick it in the water and read the meter. push clear and turn it off. If you can't operate this meter, you should not be home alone.Would I buy it again? You bet. Would I rather buy a more expensive unit that claims to be better? Why bother, this one does all that needs to be done.

Seems like a good TDS meter
This meter seems to work well, although it's not like I have ppm standard solutions to test and calibrate it against, but its reading seem believable. For instance, the San Diego tap water TDS is around 480 ppm. I always knew it was really hard water, judging from its foul off-tastes and that it forms stalagtites from all of our faucets, and not to mention has ruined several dishwashers now. The meter also agreed with the very high TDS readings that I got at the pool supply store from our swimming pool. Our purified water that we get via delivery is around 3 ppm, which meets the label claims for the product. The meter is packaged well and couldn't possibly be easier to use.

It does a great job, especially for the price
It does a great job, especially for the price!! Came in handy for a kid's science project. Then later you can test all the different water you drink and be shocked or thrilled at the particulate count lol. It's very easy to use and intuitive. Sort of like those digital thermometers you buy at the store to measure your kid's temp..

Accurate and easy to use
I used the probe to test tap water, brita filtered water and smart water, only the smart water gave me a green reading. It is very easy to use and comes in an elegant case. I definitely recommend it to test your water sources.

Had fun testing the water around the house – the TDS water tester is easy to use and the results are clear. Green is good – but there are varying degrees of red, with the range covering 50 -500 ppm. Basically, the higher the number the less you probably want to be drinking the water. The only type of water that tested green and under 50 ppm was bottled water. Everything else including kitchen tap water was under 200 ppm – so acceptable but not great. Because of the ease of use and small size I will definitely be taking this with me when I travel, and/or go camping.

Water hardness & calcium levels
I purchased this meter to test our water & thanks to this meter I now drink and cook with bottled water only. The only concern I have is that the meter does not come with more information to operate all the different functions available on this meter.

Works
Not sure how accurate this actually is.. but I do like it as it gives me an idea of what my water quality is. It does show a noticeably lower reading between straight tap water and filtered from the fridge.
