I bought a few of this type of ankle guards before for skating boots. Those are very flimsy or thin. These are thick and durable. But make sure you hand wash them.

Compared to another pair I bought for $25 these are much better. They are thicker and more durable for even cheaper. I use them for figure skating and it makes my ankle pain go away completely.

This is a great relief for me with rollerblading every time. The gel pads had enough cushion to reduce the pain and the sleeve fix the pads location for hours. Once I wear this, I usually don't have to adjust the location of gels and sleeve more than 2 hours hard rollerblading.
