Q: Why is biotin included in this supplement?

Jarrow has a reason, I trust them. No need to take a biotin supplement. This is a time released supplement, others are cheaper. There are 2 kinds of ALA one natural, the other synthetic. Jarrow sells both. The R, natural one is more expensive.

Q: Does anyone know where this is manufactured? The bottle I've seen only has a "distributed by", and I couldn't find the info on their website either.

My friend who is a doctor from Stanford said that Jarrow is awesome and I take this all the time. I'm sure it's made in the United States. You can always call Jarrow.

Q: What are the percentages of R form and S form?

Unless the bottle specifically says R-fraction, or just R-Alpha Lipoic Acid, it is a 50/50 mixture of both R & S forms. Thus, since the R form is the active form you will get half the milligram dosage given on the label. I take R-fraction Alpha Lipoic Acid at 100 mg/cap, which is the equivalent of 200 mg. of the plain variety. With this regular variety from Jarrow you will get only 150 mg. of the R form. R-fraction is more expensive, but with the regular R+S variety you have to take twice as much for whatever level you are trying to achieve.

Q: Why is this product (120 caps) so much cheaper than the Jarrow website. is this fake?

No. Jarrow is a long time vitamin company. Research the website itself Jarrow. A lot of the products sold directly by websites themselves are a little more expensive. The key is shipping free or not. Quantity, and of course quality. I find Jarrow's product to be top notch. Hope this answers your question.
