Easy to install, very powerful installed to run with the Cyberpower 1500 battery backup system
I purchased this pump to use as a backup, but it has more than enough power to be the primary pump for my groundwater basement system. This unit is lighter, so I installed it higher than the primary pump. Honestly I think it works as good or better than my primary pump. Not sure how it would do being submersed under water for long periods of time or if it rusts. I have it up higher in my basin so it probably wont be wet much. I used the cyberpower CP 1500 120 watt system as the battery backup in the event of a power outage or a primary pump failure. I tested it today and it worked great. The battery backup can run up to 8 amps 1/3 horsepower pump and I ran it through about 4-5 cycles and it barely used any juice from the battery to move the water out. I figure I will get at least 3-4 hours of time since the pump only kicks on every so often in a rainstorm. So far the entire system works great. I choose this pump to run off the battery because it only draws about 4 amps, but is very powerful... I have at least an 8-10 foot lift to get it up out of the basement and it moved the water with no issues in a matter of seconds with the hose spraying water into the basin at the same time. I installed a new pipe down into this sump and used the Superior Pump 99555 Universal Check Valve that was only 6.99 and it worked great.I will update over time if there are any issues but I think this system is going to work great. I highly recommend this pump with the cyberpower 1500 so far... as said over time if there are issues I will update, but hopefully it works out good. The test looked great.

Well Made, Great Customer Support
Before purchasing a sump pump, I called Superior to get clarification on some details. I'm glad I did. The person I spoke with was very knowledgeable and helpful. The pump I was considering would have worked okay for my application, but he suggested another, less expensive pump, which we have installed and works perfectly. Kudos to Superior for their customer service. At the same we bought this pump, we bought another similar but less expensive import version to compare. Although the other pump was about half the price, it also seemed to be about half the quality (based on external appearance. I don't have any idea about the internal components, but my guess is they are also of lesser quality). I was sold on the Superior pump for three reasons: customer service, quality of construction, and made in the USA.

Powerful and good value
The pump work great, the value as compared to local home improvement store is excellent. The only major issue is the 2 piggy back plugs. They are difficult to fit inside a covered outlet box, even an oversized covered box. I don't see the need for the 2 cords and plugs.

Really shoots the water
During heavy rains we tend to get flooding from a drainage ditch next to our house and I needed a way to pump some of the water out so it would not come into the house. I picked this one due to the high output and the automatic on and off using the optional float. It works perfectly and has saved me numerous headaches. I did have a problem with the float at one time and the pump did not turn on when it was supposed to and caused some minor water damage to my house. I called the customer service number and they were extremely helpful. They gave me some troubleshooting tips that unfortunately did not work for me so they immediately sent out a brand new float to me and the pump has worked perfectly the past 3 rain storms. Definitely a good company that I would buy from again.

Works well, but the switch might be bit short.
For the price, I think this works very well.Especially, the switch is a separate part, so you can just replace the switch if it goes bad. That also means you can use different type of switch. The pump itself, it's quieter than I expected. So far, it's working very well.Only problem was, the seller I bought was terrible at packaging, and just put the shipping label on top of the bare box.Because of this, the center hole in the floater misaligned and did not move. Some tweaking with screw driver fixed it, though. And one note...The length of float switch is bit short, and because of this, you will probably notice the unit engages rather often.FYI, the switch is very simple. If the floater goes up, it will press the switch at the top. When goes down, there is a rubber stopper at the bottom, and that pulls out the switch. So, you can use something like a long straw and glue that to that rod, and move that rubber stopper to the end of straw. Just make sure nothing sticks out in the middle which can interfere the movement of the floater. Then, take out the switch (there are only two screws at the top), and somehow tie it to the outlet pipe.In my case, Boston Market drink straw worked well. It was longer than others and has perfect inner diameter. (Could be different by the region, though)Now, my switch's length is a lot longer than the original.
