I Love F/X 2 The Deadly Art of Illusioni seen it way before the original filmi think it's better then the original in every possible way the scale the over-all qualitythe scores is really good (I've always wanted to get the score on cd) I doubt it was ever released thoughThe Cast is strong (great working class actors all around)Returning are:Bryan Brown as Rollie TylerBrian Dennehy as Leo McCarthy (Dennehy is in many ways still super under-rated he's on the same level as Marlon Brando but, he seems to get forget alot imo)New to the follow up areRachel Ticotin as Kim Brandon best known for Total Recall, Con Air among much more (really great female actress then can do almost anything)Joanna Gleason as Liz Kennedy (If you grew up in the 1980's your know her face! always liked her too)Kevin J. O'Connor as Matt Neely (you might not know the name but, he too has done all kinds of stuff)If you didn't see The Original F/X it doesn't matter reallythis is a stand alone sequelI enjoy the Original but, I've always loved this oneIt's a classic murder mysteryThere are plenty of twist and turns the slick thing with this filmthe title F/X plays into everything in the filmRichard Franklin directed this film this was his last American film he was not happy with the final cut of the film which i really find strangeThis was 1991 Action films were changing a great dealI would love to see a special edition of this on BR but, by the looks of this release it's gonna be a bare bones versionI guess with Richard Franklin no longer being with us who knows if we'll ever see a Special EditionI would love to know the inside story to what made him so unhappy with this film was it the studio cutting things???There are some scenes in the film that don't seem to fit into the film that were just put into it for no real reason like the opening scene with the dude in drag who starts killing cops (The scene itself was cool but, it didn't fit into any of the story or plotexcept one very small thing......I'm shocked it even got a BR release so I'll be happy to get it in HDThe dvd put on by MGM years ago is a poor quality printThe picture quality is ugly and very rough looking (I doubt MGM took the time to really remaster it for the dvd)MGM is the same studio during the first year of the HD Format War between HD DVD & Blu RayMGM's Blu Ray's were horrible upscaled dvd's put onto BR Disc and sold super expensiveHopefully this is at least a massive jump in PQ compared to the dvdKino Lorber does a very good job when it comes to there BRand the $15.99 price break makes this a day one for meHell I'll pre-order it sometimes this weekIt's a true misunderstood film that can stand on it's own 9/10The Kino Lorber blu raySpecial Features are:***Making of Featuretteand Trailers for F/X and F/X 2Not much but, more then the horrible MGM dvd had

This sequel is every bit as good as the original F/X. The mob has stolen gold coins that it is trying to return to the Vatican. Rollie the F/X specialist screws thing up by stealing the coins from the mob. I love this film as much as I did the first one. The story twists and turns and how the two partners return the coins is believable. I highly recommend this movie.

I always liked this movie. I originally had it on Laser Disk. I am into special effects and trying to figure out how things are done in the movies. This movie concentrates on the behind the scenes guys which you never hear much of except in the final credits. The company I purchased the DVD from was very quick to send it and I received it here at my APO in Germany within 2 weeks of ordering. 2 Weeks is a normal time for packages from the States.

F/X 2 is better than the first movie. The story is more involved and faster paced than the F/X 1. Like the first movie, they're after some crooked cops, a crooked assistant District Attorney, missing gold from the Vatican, and the Mafia. Good acting, stunt work, and some humor. I would like to see them make another F/X movie!

I love both FX and FX2 movies. They continue to be great entertainment for me and my family. Each plot was very well done. Thank you Amazon.com for having a wide range of movies to choose from.

I love this movie just as much as the 1st one. It is just as interesting as F/X. The plot is done well and set in the most beautiful part of Europe.

I really like the movies plot and also needed to get this movie to complement the first F/X movie that I already have.
