COBIBattleship Yamato

I have built a few Cobi models now, mostly planes and have always been impressed with the final result. This however was my first ship and what a ship to choose as a starter. The Yamato, executive edition.I have to admit this is my favourite build so far, right from the off you feel the absolute scale of this beast, coming in just under a metre in length.The actual build is clear and concise as long as you follow the instructions properly. The finished result is very impressive.One thing I wasn’t sure if beforehand and some may want to know before purchase. Is the executive version worth the extra money? In short I don’t think so. You do get a couple of extra planes although these are white which is confusing as the other two are green. And you do get the captain. Again, with the quality and maturity of the actual ship, would you really place a minifigure next to it? So personally in hindsight I would have saved some money and purchased the regular edition, this is not cheap after all.If I was nit picking I would say a couple of the turrets behind the largest guns are a bit loose compared to the others, a small observation but for the price it’s the attention to detail. Other than that I recommend this ship. It looks amazing and was fun to build.

Arrived early, well packed and heaps of fun to make. Took my time and built it over 2 days, but fully enjoyed it. No missing pieces, directions are as good as other companies.
