RBCA2 RB Continental Voyager Dreadnought Acoustic Guitar Case

Downgrade from previous model
I’ve had a reunion blues bass case for years. Love it. Keeps my bass in great condition. But after ALOT of use almost all the zippers were broken. Way past the warranty but i definitely got my moneys worth. So I decided after much research that it seemed like reunion blues was the way to go again. Unfortunately they have seriously downgraded the case’s functions.First off the bass protection is still great. They “fixed” the issue at the bottom of the bag getting destroyed by adding bumpers around the end pin. The headstock protection is even sturdier than before, not that it necessarily needed it. Here’s are the issues though. They removed a ton of storage. As a working musician I have my procedure to make sure I’m not forgetting anything before or after a gig. Everything had a place and a ton of space in the last model. For some unknown reason they removed a huge pocket at the top of the case. Also there were three pockets perfect for my inears, power cable, and talkback pedal that now have just disappeared. Also its way taller now than it was before when wearing it as a backpack. I’m 6’4” and the old case was manageable. Now I’m constantly slamming into door jams and almost smashed more the one ceiling light putting it on. Another simple thing they removed was a small metal ring at the top of the case. It was a great spot to hang my suit coat or a change of clothes on my instrument so I didn’t forget it when I left the house.I have no idea why they took these features away. Bottom line is the case still protects your bass. But I’m switching to mono

Great acoustic guitar case
This Reunion Blues dreadnought guitar case is well worth the price (basically $200), especially if you have an expensive acoustic guitar. My Martin HD-28V fits perfectly inside, with just a tiny bit of wiggle room. The padding inside the case is plenty thick (more than any other "bag style" guitar case I have seen). The inside neck strap helps keep the guitar from bouncing around - you can make it loose or tight to suit your preference. There is a little room above the head stock (maybe 2 inches). There is room to roll up your strap and tuck it in at the top of the guitar body. Otherwise the guitar is held firm by the padding. There are two extra padding pillows at the base of the body that are held in place by Velcro and can be relocated if needed (say, to allow for a strap lock at the base of the guitar). The exterior material is very dense and protective. There is an outside pocket that can hold a music book, and a smaller outside pocket for picks, etc. The shoulder straps are sturdy and can be tucked away when not in use. Note, however, that the case rides high when using the shoulder straps (the neck sticks up almost 12 inches above my head). The outside handle is sturdy and well balanced. The case is a little heavier than the $50 bag case I was using, but much lighter than the hard case that came with the guitar. This case really feels like it will hold up well over years of use. (If not, I'll be back!)

Way overpriced for what it is
First of all, the case didn’t fit my bass well at all so I returned immediately and no problem there. I have a name brand, long scale bass, but there was a ton of slop vertically in the fit. The neck block doesn’t adjust and while the bottom blocks were adjustable the velcro was weak and no matter how I placed them, they just pushed the bass laterally into an even more precarious position. The little scoop handle on the back side is really a design misstep…that handle should be a loop handle on the front of the case, not on the back. I didn’t make it to the backpack straps, which do stow away ( a nice touch) The front pocket is really too small to carry anything, a not uncommon problem for gig bags. The construction seemed fine, but not exceptional. This would be a nice bag at $125, but not at nearly $200.

A great case !!!
I couldn't imagine a non-hard shell guitar case any better than the Continental Voyager. I think any solid body guitar would fit comfortably, safely and snugly in this case. It's extremely protective of my PRS SE Paul's guitar. It's light weight, not bulky and comfortable to carry. Its "flexoskeleton" will protect an instrument from nearly anything. Its plush velvety interior has cushiony padding all around and adjustable padding to protect the bottom of the guitar. There is a neck brace that safely locks the guitar neck in place and protective pads to prevent the headstock and bridge from tearing up the inside of the case. And it has hideaway backpack straps. The only things I might improve about it are making the handle slightly more cushiony and adding another small zippered compartment on the outside where the headstock is (for a phone, keys, etc.). I give the Reunion Blues Continental Voyager a resounding 5 stars!

Top notch case.
When I needed a light weight, sturdy, well made, well designed, case that offered excellent protection for my 335 I didn't hesitate to buy the Reunion Blues Continental Voyager for semi hollow guitars. I already have their Dreadnought size and have used it for several years without any problems. The 335 fits nicely and the neck support protects the headstock well.

Great carry-on and travelling bag
I bought this gig bag specifically because I had some gigs in Alaska and I needed to fly there with my guitar. I wanted a soft case that I could get on the plane as a carry-on. I had no issues using it as my carry-on bag. It was easy to carry and handle, fit in the overhead compartments fine on Delta and Alaska Air. I was never worried about my guitar on the flights or through 2 weeks of trekking through Alaska. The size is nice, big enough to protect but small enough to be convenient during travel. It's a solid enough build and now I use it as my case at local gigs too just because it is so convenient compared to all my hard cases. So far I've used it with a Hamer Monico, Hamer Sunburst, Gibson SG and a Fender Strat at different times and they all fit great. I would buy again and might just do that for other guitars.

Great protection! A few picky complaints.
After comparing all gig bags I could find in person, including Mono M80/Vertigo, this definitely seems the best protection money can buy. I especially think the value is great compared to the old school leather Reunion Blues cases, which were rugged, durable and beautiful, but heavy and without any rigid strength.Pros:1. I’d trust this over a traditional hard case or a low end SKB style flight case. It’s semi forcibly skeleton would likely protect the guitar better in a fall that would cause a hard case to come open or break. That said, still probably a heavy duty flight case is better protection (but you have to carry it).2. Finally a gig bag I can bike with!3. Excellent quality build4. External pocket is sufficient size, though not huge, and adds strength, rigidity and protection to the case.5. Soft plush lining - really, the nicest lining in a gig bag I’ve seen.6. Nice padding on the back for carrying with straps7. Hidden “handle” on the back, right above the straps.8. Tough skin on both the bottom (boot) and the top (eg head stock) of the case, which is great for longevity.Cons:1. It’s longer than many gig bags. It’s 1” longer than the Mono M80 for semi hollows. It’s about 5” longer than my other Crossrock gig bag. Sadly it doesn’t fit in my car trunk as easily as my old gig bag. As well, internally it leaves 2-1/2” extra space above my 42” long guitar’s headstock even with the extra space pads in. So seems like they could have made it shorter and still safe, but maybe the extra length protects the head stock in an upside down fall.2. Inside bottom spacer pads seem to be a design afterthought rather than intended. Other cases just have built in extra padding. Picky, but also a gripe because of the above con of excess length.3. Neck brace Velcro strap is a bit awkward. Seems like there could be an easier method than having to dig your hands into the side of the case to undo it.4. You almost HAVE to open the case fully on its back to put your guitar in (eg you can’t easily slide it in the top like you can with a Mono case or soft gig bag). This is largely due to the strength of the reinforcement that makes it so wonderfully protective, so a bit of a trade off.5. Shoulder straps. They’re mounted a bit low, making the guitar ride pretty high on the back when they’re snug and comfortable. I’m 6’ tall exactly, and I have to either loosen the straps to a less than ideal length or duck when going through doors. I also wish the zippier at the top of the back padding could flip inside the padding.6. No reflective strips. It’sa sexy dark colour, but I’d be glad for a couple reflective strips for visibility when on foot or bike at night.Cons all said, which are picky, it’s really the best protection I was able to find in a gig bag. Most of my friends use Mono cases, so I’m quite familiar with them. The Mono cases have rigid sides, but soft top (and back, it seems). If I had to go on the road with one, I’d definitely choose the RB Continental Voyager; I knit my guitar would be fine even at the bottom of the pile of a bunch of other gear.

Best Gig Bag for protection of instrument
More bulk than a generic gig bag but offers great protection for a valuable guitar. Quality construction. Also ordered & received the Dreadnought model (April,2021) which offers same qualities. These cases DO NOT have the typical perfumed masked glue odour of hardshell cases which is absorbed by the finish on the guitar. Highly recommended.

Great guitar gig bag
I'm really happy with my Reunion Blues guitar gig bag, which offers superb fit and protection, thanks to a metal exoskeleton, in an amazingly light package. I'm taking my guitar to Scotland soon, and, while I hope to be able to take it on board the plane, in the event that doesn't work out, this bag offers enough padding and protection to be able to withstand the vagaries of air travel, at least according to several friends who have used them.
