Ehh...
First off, and most importantly, I wouldn't rent this as an E-Book if at all possible, ESPECIALLY if you're using it for a class. There are a lot of exercises on the book that require you to write inside the book itself, and having to print out a page, or find some way to get around not being able to physically manipulate the text is frustrating. Get the physical copy if you can.Second of all, the book itself is pretty pointless if you have a good sense of self-awareness. For the everyday individual, most of this is common knowledge and this book ends up being little more than pages of busy work with only the occasional spark that comes with finding something new. Considering that this book is almost 80 dollars to buy, that's incredibly annoying. However, if you haven't been in school for a while, or you aren't really sure of where you stand as a student, this might be a good buy. Not only does the text book go over things like how to study, how to manage time, and how to keep goals, but it also goes over things like suicide prevention, sexual health, and how to manage money.Regardless, pretty much everyone whose buying this book is buying it because they have to, so none of the above really matters.

A book that makes it easy to become a master student
I have been studying for 11years and are always looking for new ideas and advice on study methods as I believe that one can always learn something new. I have started with my Masters degree this year which required different skills than my previous studies. Aspects such as critical thinking, selecting the most important information, analysing information and then writing it in your own words to mention but a few. This was a whole new ball game for me. I work full time a teacher at a special school and study part time and one of my biggest problems was procrastination. When I read this book it opened a whole new world for me. What I love about this book is that it not only gives you information about studies but also about life and the experiences of others. I started setting goals and planned better which made my life so much easier. I would like to thank Dave Ellis for writing this amazing book it made a difference in my approach to my studies and my life in general. I would recommend this book to every student.Thank you so much

Great read, lots of useful info, but essentially assumes you have mom and dad paying for everything.
After five years of college,I found the irony of taking this first year the college orientation class at the end of college amusing. I have to say that there much of this book seemed like common sense I already learned in other classes. HOWEVER, there are gems of information and ideas that would have been really useful in my own schooling that make it well worth the read for anyone starting secondary education. The only thing that I did not like about this book is that the tone of the book assumes the reader is a college student with all the free time and resources in the world to get through school. Yes, internships and extracurricular activities are options but but let's be real here. Most of us will be working through school and will barely have time for anything but school and work. The advice for actually for sustainably paying for school is nonexistent even though there is an entire chapter related to money.

Book came in like brand-new. So happy with it. This is a great read for anyone starting up college. Iv been reading it this month and it’s been helping me with study and in turn my quizzes and tests have been 95% and higher. As before I used to struggle

An incredibly helpful book for all students
This textbook was a requirement for one of my college classes, but I must say, I really enjoying using it. I loved the activity pages and tips in it, and all of the material was incredibly useful. My favorite parts of the book were the Discovery Wheel and the Learning Style Inventory. I feel that the material helped me get to know myself better, and gave me a better understanding of how I tend to learn things. Much of what I learned from this book is stuff I wish I had been taught in high school. I would absolutely recommend this to any college student.

Buy it, don't rent.
Rented this for my student success class.. I didn't expect to get much out of the class or this book because this is actually my last semester to earn my BA. I needed some misc. Units.. but this book helped me plan out the rest of my life. It also gives very helpful information with budgeting, planning, and test taking tips and tips on dealing with text anxiety!!! Good read and good buy.

I feel this book offers excellent skills that can be implemented by students of all ...
I was able to rent my book so I saved a lot of money. For the required assignments in the book I just made hard copies of them a did them without tearing out any pages. I feel this book offers excellent skills that can be implemented by students of all levels.

This was in good condition. All pages were clean
This was in good condition. All pages were clean. Only issue I did have was the cover looked like it got sliced by a razor. But I did buy it for 15 dollars so I knew something would be wrong. The book is usable however therefore I would recommend if you don't want to pay 60$ to 80$

A Book to Own for Life
I purchased this book for a class I am taking in College. This book really transformed my study habits and how I saw myself as a student (and a person). It really did help me understand the reasons why I do certain things, and what I can do to help myself. This is a book I will be keeping and I will keep referring to it. It is not a book you will want to get ride of after you finish a course. This is a great book even for those who are not taking a required course. It will help you find out how you best learn, read, tricks to help you remember what you read and learn, and ways to help strengthen areas of weaknesses. You will be able to apply what you learned from the book in other areas of your life.

Top quality study guide for budding master students...
This book is an absolute essential for training students up with the required study skills needed to survive at university. Well organised, logical, and easy to read. It even has, blended in, critical thinking exercises. An excellent buy that I would strongly recommend for any teacher or student looking to achieve success in an academic environment.

Product came in perfect condition
This product came fast and in perfect condition. There were no tears, bends, or any other flaws. The only problem is that this was not the correct textbook I needed for a course. However, that was an error I made, not the sellers! Just double check your textbook lists as many textbooks have different editions (and in my case, my university used an older edition rather than the newest)! Would purchase from this seller again! Again, the product came in PERFECT condition!
