Does what it says, more or less. Definitely provides good protection for this far-too-expensive piece of electronic gear.I was blown away at what Viper, et al charge for a replacement remote... If two break it is almost as expensive as the entire alarm kit with remotes!My gripes with it are as follows:1) Gotta tear it off the keychain to change battery (that rod is easy to break off)2) Very diminished viewing of LCD3) No cutout for the button in back for changing cars. Not even an indicator of position. I use this frequently and it's rough to find and poke multiple times.4) Adds more bulk than I would like.All-in-all, having had to locate and pay for replacing these remotes in the past I would still say this is a good purchase. I have already dropped my keys onto concrete a couple times and my remote stayed attached and working fine.

Ive had the viper system in my car for over 4 years and ive had to replace the remote twice. Looking for a third replacement, i came across this leather cover for it. It was only about $10 so i just threw that in my order (i get covers for my phone, why not for this remote that tends to get impacted everything i place my keys down or have the occasional drop from time to time). Best thing ever! Wish i had gotten it as soon as i got the whole alarm system. It should already be included in the system, but whatever, i very happy now. Its best for us girls that are very clumsy and drop car keys by mistake.
