I found this trilogy very exciting and romantic. I just wish that the battles were a bit more exciting and (SPOILER ALERT) weren't just small skirmishes.

This author also wrote keeper of the lost cities one of my favorite series so read this one it did not disappoint!

I read KOTLC around age 12-13, and wanted to read more by Shannon Messenger so I read these. At that age, some of the romance pieces were confusing and weird to me. I read them again at age fifteen and it’s no longer confusing and weird, but instead exciting, sweet, and stuff that gives you butterflies. It’s an awesome book, and I love how Messenger can add so much humor in these novels, as well as KOTLC. I recommend this 100 percent, just as long as you’re age fifteen or older.

Grandkids loved it

I don't like to make comparisions, but this world SM created is so weak in comparision with the KOTLC books. I know this books were written first than KOTLC books , but still, LTSF books were very weak. My favorite book was book 1. For me the story could have ended here, simple, cute, but then books 2 and 3 ruined the story for me. Book 2 and 3 introduced torture and turned out to be heavier than book 1. The villain is just horrible. One of the most macabre villains i ever read and this books are supposedly destined to a younger audience. Not even the villains for KOTLC are that horrible. In KOTLC we get to emphatize a bit with the villains. In this trilogy, not even close, the villain are just horrible and while reading books 2 and 3, i just wanted the story to end. I don't recommend
