Azendus SAM-e Mood Support 400mg, 60 Count, Same Butanedisulfonate Fiber Enteric Coated Tablets

Taking 2 of the 400mg dose each morning for anxiety/depression (in other countries where SAM-e can be prescribed for such problems, 800mg is the standard MINIMUM dose and lower doses are usually ineffective). I’ve been on antidepressants of all different brands/kinds for 10 years now and they all have heavy side effects. Ultimately being emotionally blunted and losing any sense of motivation to do things I had to or even wanted to is what made me decide I had enough. However the nature of my particular problems are too serious to leave unchecked, so I started using this as soon as I worked down and got off the antidepressant, working up from the smallest dose over a month or two (be sure you’re off serotonin-altering medications like SSRIs or SNRIs before you start). Note that it will likely take a month or more to kick in, just like serotonin-altering medications.I chose this brand because it came up in research as one of the better brands you can get in the U.S., as it uses butanedisulfonate instead of the poorer quality tosylate that more commonly seen brands use (which were the ones I was familiar with from past dabbling at 200mg doses). I wish it wasn’t so costly but alas. Know that the 400mg pill is bigger than the 200mg one, multivitamin size. Unfortunately the 200 and 400mg boxes have no difference in box branding so make sure you’re getting the right dose and number of pills.I still have to take a different, non-antidepressant medication for a couple of the anxiety/sleep disorders, but the SAM-e has definitely taken the sharp edge off my anxiety and kept major depression away even through a very distressing life change, and without any noticeable side effects. It gives you enough help to keep you sane but doesn’t zombify you, letting you feel emotions (even if that can be hard at times) and learn coping strategies and healthy management of your disorders so that they can’t run your life anymore. Instead of being crutches like antidepressants, SAM-e is a handrail. You have to stand on your own two feet but you still have help so you don’t fall. Drugs are certainly stronger, but at more personal cost.What makes me like Azendus specifically is that when they accidentally sent me the wrong dosage and count days before I was about to run out they immediately got back to my return request (within an hour), refunded me, and sent me more with priority shipping at no cost to me. They were low on stock with the specific dose/count I typically get so they sent me enough of the 30 count to match up to my usual 60 count. I was very relieved and impressed by that and will definitely continue using this brand despite the lack of Prime shipping because I trust that honesty and reliability and that’s something you need if you’re using SAM-e as consistently as you would a prescription drug. Definitely recommend!

I thought I would stop taking it. The next week I was in a bad mood. I re-ordered it and cheered up. I think it really works!

I started taking these for focus and mood. The difference is subtle but allows me to stay focused when my typical afternoon slump hits. Before was fighting to get things done in the afternoons, now it takes a moderate amount of effort even when I feel tired. I also feel more motivated on the weekends. Instead of staring at my to-do list and maybe getting one thing checked off, I can get through a reasonable number without losing steam. No stomach or other side effects.

Very pleased with the effectiveness of this formulation of SAMe! I have used other brands of SAMe for over 15 years to successfully manage moderate (but constant) depression and anxiety symptoms. Decided to try Azendus after I read that the form they manufacture has been shown more effective in research than the Tosylate form. Within a week I noticed a lift in mood and affect, after a month of feeling 25% more positive and clearly less anxious than the last 2 years, with no changes in external situations, I now know this form works much better for me! For those of us that manage to live with chronic depression, this is a breakthrough. Of course I also eat a healthy diet, exercise, make proper rest and sleep a priority, meditate and work on my responses to external triggers, but even with all that in place for years, this form of SAMe has made that extra, measurable difference between merely coping to actually feeling lighter-hearted!Very grateful to have found this.

I am so sad about this purchase. I started taking the nature version a few months ago and it helped with my plantar issues, extreme foot and ankle pain, constant ruminating thoughts and depression. Honestly it's been a miracle. I thought I'd switch to this brand after I ran out of 2nd box of nature brand. Well it arrived well over a month ago in good condition, fast shipping even. Didn't get to try till last week and every day my pain gets worse. I work night shift weekends in a warehouse 11 hour shifts of pain before nature same. Well this weekend was awful. The pain was back 10 fold. So bad that for Sunday I took 3 different doses of azendus brand throughout the day thinking maybe it's not as potent despite claiming the same stats. No luck. The only thing that did was I believe give me a headache. Hard to say the headache was the supplement or just coincidence. I'm so sad I spent so much money and ya know I'm back to ruminating. Needless to say I got nature brand coming in the mail. Im not sure how one brand can work and another do nothing. Makes me question both supplements ingredients when one does so much at lowest dose and the other seemingly nothing even tripled.

I tried this product and began to have heightened anxiety on day 2. I was very sensitive to this product. It didn’t take an entire week to feel changes. Unfortunately for me, they were not positive changes.
