Best price around
This is the real deal and at the lowest price on the market. Works very well with my M12 holster.

This was a great piece compared to the original fabric cover that came with the holster. This allows for a quicker draw and it holds the pistol in rather well. It doesn't bunch up like the fabric cover when the hammer is cocked back. The only problem I have found is that it's a pain trying to resnap it when you put your pistol back. But hey you're buying this for a quick darw.

Good quick release, but hard to clasp
I purchased this so that I could remove my 1911 from my bianchi holster quickly.Pros- Secure enough to keep the pistol in place on a 4 wheeler- Very quick to release with my thumb and draw the pistol one handedCons- Lots of fumbling to get it snapped and takes me two hands. Quick to draw, very slow to holster.- Not adjustable, it works great on my 1911 with the hammer down, not so great with the hammer cockedOverall I am happy with the purchase and will continue to use it. I suggest to continue with the m12 flap though if you have an open hammer and are in a snowy area. After trudging through the woods for a day my pistol got so packed with snow I could not pull the slide back.

was easy to install
This thumbsnap works, was easy to install, and can be used with the full flap holster cover. While not exactly conducive to a fast release, it does provide added security, and makes a good addition to the Bianchi holster line. I don't believe it will work with their revolver holster, though.

Useful Device
can replace top flap with thumb-break straps if the size of the pistol allows. In some cases, user can take some 1" wide webbing, appropriate snaps/setting tool, and construct a replacement section of the strap system. You'll be replacing the strap that does NOT have the molded-in plastic thumb-break paddle. Use original section of webbing as an example, just make the length of new strap to suit your application.

It Fits But Still Might Not Work
This units on my Hill Country M12 just fine. Installation took a few tries to get right (it's pretty easy to install it backwards or upside down), but it went on without any real effort. And it snaps and unsnaps. But...The M12 used with this thumbsnap system is a universal holster. Most large service automatics will fit in the holster. The US Army uses the Beretta 92 (called the M9 in military circles). The M1911 will also fit as will the Browning Hipower. However with both my 1911 and my hipower, this thumbsnap will not adequately secure the gun in the holster. I can draw both my 1911 and my hipower out of my M12 without unsnapping this thumbbreak because of the roominess of the holster and the potential movement of the thumbsnap's strap. It did not matter if the guns were holstered hammer down or cocked and locked. This isn't a problem with this one part vendor. Amazon did a great job and I received a Bianchi M1415 not some third party vendor. It is made properly. The problem is with the M1415 on the M12 system using a 1911 or hipower. Depending on what firearm you want to use with the M12 holster, this might not provide adequate retention. It didn't for me. Perhaps with the larger trigger guard shield on the Bianchi UM84 or a different handgun, this might still work for you.

Does what I need it to do.

Too short
This was about an inch too short when installed correctly. I did make it work by undoing the front snap (permanently) Since apparently the buttons were not placed quite correctly. And then cutting the strap (on the hidden area) and adding about an inch of webbing. Then the expected issue of holstering and re-snapping it one handed is difficult at best.

Unnecessarily difficult to snap closed
It works, mostly, but it is a very poorly designed addition to the m12. Unnecessarily difficult to snap closed, not an improvement over the flap.Edit:With the drop leg attachment this improves dramatically. No idea why it seems to work better but it does. Would only recommend in conjunction with the drop leg addon for the m12
