Good For The Money and kind of impressive
I liked how bright the mids and the highs were and how detailed they were, while at the same time having a huge soundstage to listen to. Some people are going to have a problem with how bright the sound is here and yeah these earphones are really loud, louder than any of the IEMs that I own at the same price. After a while it can feel like you were yelled at. The trade off to the fatigue is that instruments can be heard clearly and precisely and vocals are sharp when they're hitting high notes. The noise isolation is really excellent here, they reach really deep into your ear canals as usual for many of the designs that KZ offers, even when they're not jammed in there, isolation is still really decent when you find the right eartip. I heavily recommend foam eartips. As long as those eartips are not jammed all the way into your ear, the fit is not at all fatiguing for long periods of time. These ones are kind of heavy and the wire around your ear does feel like its lifting up the iem quite a bit. Even with the slightly bigger iem on my ear, it doesnt get fatiguing until you wear it for 5 plus hours in my opinion. The lack of bass is pretty evident but treble is found in copious amounts to try to compensate. You have to raise the volume quite a bit to get the bass to show or register, it's there but doesn't really make itself known, only showing brief registers of it. Even with that negative, if you like bright and colorful sound that borders on sounding artificial yet natural then these would be a really good fit for you.

Absolutely the best IEMs I’ve ever owned!
Let me start by saying I’ve mixed live sound for nearly 30 years and I have had many IEM of pro and consumer grades. These are by far the best I’ve ever owned.Let me tell you what these are not. They are NOT bass boosted consumer POS headphones that you grab for working out. These are truly In Ear Monitors with flat response to the incoming signal. That means they are not lifting the highs, lows or anything in between. They are truly for listening to the source audio as it sounds to the listener of it were live. If you want to add Bass bias, that is what the EQ function is for. This is not to say you cannot have bass present in your source. These IEMs will provide you a ton of bass, but if you want more than the original source provides, you have to use an EQ. Your phone probably has one you’ve never used. Turn on the bass function there and enjoy the music you love with much added bass. Now for those that love classical, pop, metal and even EDM, these just work great!Listening to classical recordings, I can hear the strumming of the strings, the hammers on piano and the bow moving across the strings on some recordings. There is that much detail in these IEMs.For those that like other genres of music, I’m sorry, I didn’t test all as there aren’t too many I know the sounds of the songs well enough to know what I am missing or not in the recordings. For reference I listed to Nightwish, Mozart, Beethoven, Tron Legacy Soundtrack, Kill Bill Soundtrack, Apocalyptica, Leo Metal, Two Steps from Hell, Nemesis and Luca Stricagnoli. All of them were impressive. Also, I paired these with their $20 low loss cables and wow, they are truly amazing! Also, for those wondering, they are extremely comfortable, have replaceable ear tips, and can be worn for hours very comfortably. Cable for both goes over the ear so very secure and easily managed. Finally, I wasn’t paid for this review, I purchased everything myself including the cables and this is just my honest review. I did the review because a pair of IEMs for $136 for this quality are absolutely insane! I have $500 IEMs that aren’t even close to this.Add that to the USB C sound card I have for the PC and these are amazingly great gaming headphones especially is you use Dolby Atmos for gaming. One last caveat, I noticed someone saying these are harsh for highs. I did notice that for things that weren’t mixed well when recorded (like Nemesis for example that concentrates on subwoofer bass) that the highs were harsh, but listening to classical with intentional highs and lows, it was balanced very well and the company’s frequency response chart I would bet is very close to the pair I received.I also own some of the 5 driver KZs and they are very good too. Probably the beat daily headphones you could ask for, that’s why I wanted to try these 8 driver bad boys. They really delivered!

Amazing sound
The in ears themself sound great! I can hear EVERYTHING with all the drivers and the noise cancellation is impressive. However I was disappointed with the presentation of the packaging - poor. The box looks old and beat up which make me wonder if they’re used when I paid $135 for them. I would’ve thought the packaging would be better and more appealing. The box fell apart as soon as I removed the plastic wrap and there was glue on the in ears along with holes inside which I’m guessing was from the metal plate that was inside/not in place. Other than that I’m impressed with the product itself. I do wish the cable had the adjustable ball so they don’t tug while using them. If I was playing an instrument I’d probably hate the discomfort since my hands would not be free.

Amazing for Price
It's been at least 5 years since I last bought a pair of wired in ears, and I am so glad that I went with these KZs. I have custom molded plugs for a set of Bose, and honestly these blow those out of the water in comfort, style, and performance. The design sits close enough to my ear that it doesn't make it super obvious they're being warn, but if I want to show them off I can because of the lovely casing. I wear these in loud outdoor settings, and quiet indoor settings both of with no loss in enjoyment from either setting. The only thing I wish was different would be the cable length, but in all honesty the cable length should be fine for most people, I just happen to have a longer torso. And a replacement cable is easy to find.TL:DR, Great looks, Great sounding, Will continue recommending them
