I love this book!
I have some pretty high expectations for myself so I fall into the 'Frustrated Overachiever and Recovering Perfectionist' realm of this book, and I always feel better after reading a chapter or two. The book is set up with shorter chapters so I can read just one chapter or lots of them together. My favorite way to read this book has been to only read a couple chapters and truly incorporate the suggestions into my life. Chapter 37 on setting Good, Better and Best goals was really helpful. I also turn to this book every time I need a pick-me-up. Not only does it give helpful steps to take to just get moving on a goal, it makes me feel better for not having everything accomplished yesterday. So inspiring and motivating!

exercises and good old-fashioned advice
This big-hearted book has earned a place in my mental health medicine cabinet. With an irresistible combination of stories, exercises and good old-fashioned advice, Samantha Bennett offers the unconditional acceptance that all of us crave from friends, partners, mentors, coaches, parents and even ourselves. In bite-size chapters, Bennett urges us to release the anxiety, anger, blame and fear that make us doubt our own worth and keep us from being our best and most creative selves. "You cannot screw up your life," she writes. Whatever has happened up to this point has put you in the perfect position to start right where you are. It's solid, timeless advice, delivered with contemporary insight and just the right touch of sass.Reading this book made me feel like I'd been vaccinated against discouragement, procrastination and self-sabotage. I know I'll be returning for a booster dose!

I highly recommend this to anyone who is struggling to find themselves & start moving forward!!
I was looking for a self-help but motivational “get out of my rut” book and this book fully exceeded my expectations!! The author keeps it real and without digging into your past, she helps you to get past it and move forward...one chapter at a time. I first purchased this as an audible book but after listening to it 2X, I had to buy the book so I could highlight my favorite quotes and make my own notes within the book. I love the short, yet precise chapters with the majority of them ending with “Little Changes Action Steps” which allows you to put into practice what you just read. So much useful and practical information you can start using today!!

Smart, funny, incisive and compassionate -- this book will benefit any perfectionist, procrastinator, overachiever or overwhelmed creative. Sam Bennett's insight about how people work and what makes them tick is matched by her gentle humor and skill as a storyteller. She'll help you look into whatever blockages have kept you from moving forward on your art/work/life and she'll make you laugh while you do it. Like sitting down to tea with a really good friend.

You get finesse, wholeness, and humaneness because Sam is at the top of her game.
It is rare that you find an author who gets it and gets it done. I first found Sam Bennett through her book, Get It Done, Get It Done: From Procrastination to Creative Genius in 15 Minutes a Day and became an instant fan. Her latest book, Start Right Where You Are Start Right Where You Are: How Little Changes Can Make a Big Difference for Overwhelmed Procrastinators, Frustrated Overachievers, and Recovering Perfectionists continues to inspire and show me how to take action toward my entrepreneurial goals. I am in awe of Sam's ability to write books that dance effortlessly between the inner and outer challenge of getting your creative work into the world. There's finesse, wholeness, and humaneness here that's simply beautiful. Highly recommended.

extremely readable
For someone who doesn't enjoy reading, or motivational books, this was a breath of fresh air. I read it in one day! It's written in bite size chunks, totally non-intimidating, and I was hooked with the message and inspiration.
