1001W - The Rudimental Cookbook - Book & MP3

Excellent book
As a kit drummer, this book has opened my eyes, I had learnt the rudiments before, but never really understood how to join them together and use them properly. I find it really enjoyable just playing these pieces on the snare and forgetting about the rest of the kit, then I'll play the kit and suddenly think 'wow where did that come from?'. This book doesn't hold your hand and explain how to play a flam paradiddle or a pataflafla, or read the music notation, which is a good thing as any drummer worth their salt should already be learning this stuff and you can learn it elsewhere. My volume control, use of accents, style, technique and stamina has already improved, I look forward to progressing further with this book. All in all the book has a good layout, is straight to the point and well worth the money, I'm very pleased!

Excellent Resource
This book is an excellent supplemental for any percussionist or instructor. There are exercises to help build abilities, but the solos at the end are the true value in it for me. There are so many of them at many varying levels of difficulty that you should find no challenge in selecting one at the appropriate level for yourself or a student. What I particularly appreciate about the solos is the extra information each has about them including the particular rudiments used. I would highly encourage picking this book up!

Recommended by my son's percussion teacher
Got this book because my son's percussion teacher wanted him to have it. One of the selection was played in this year's IGSMA regional contest and will be played again at the State contest level. The teacher plans on using many more of the pieces in this book.

Great teaching tool.
A friend of mine teaches middle and hight school percussion and recommended Row-Loff Productions and publications to me years ago. Have been with them ever since. It's because of publications like this that I've been able to teach myself how to read snare drum/drum corp rhythms and notation. I recommend that you know or familiarize yourself with PAS 40 Snare Drum rudiments or have a basic understanding of quarter, eighth, sixteenth and thirty second note subdivisions before you purchase this book because the book does not teach you how to read notation.

The BEST!
One of the TOP/BEST books to learn Snare Drum. Rated by my son, who is a highly proficient drummer for over 14 years now! (He also teaches snare drum, as well as drum set.)

Great to master foundation
This book was recommended by the percussion teacher. It's helped my daughter master her rudiments in a fun and systematic way.
