Kurt Adler 10-Light Santa Sleigh and Reindeer Light Set

This is so adorable! Was definitely a challenge to untangle the deer but I got it done! There are a few areas where the paint is chipping off like on Santa’s face and some of the reindeers sides but it just adds to the retro/vintage look so I’m not by any means upset at all!!! One thing I do not like at all though is the ugly blue glitter on Santa’s sleigh… I will find a way to get it off without jeopardizing the paint. I knew this before buying it but of course it’s only got the 8 reindeer and no rudolf at the front of the pack. Can’t find anything with the full 9 reindeer - such a bummer. It’s a really nice size too! I was worried they’d be larger than they are but they’re the perfect size! Can’t wait to put this up for Christmas next year!!!

They made a lovely wall decoration. They are pricey, though, and the price went up throughout the Christmas season after I purchased them!

The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a unique Christmas string light set for my diorama and I am so happy with my Santa and his 8 reindeer by Kurt Adler. They are made of heavy vinyl, much better than I was expecting, so I know they will last for many, many Christmases. On the sleigh, the vinyl and paint is a bit thick for the two lights to be seen, so I hope to put a brighter light inside, like I show in the video. I hope this is OK. I just used clear packing tape to tape them to the shelf before I put hooks in when I decide on their permanent places. Some of the deers' light holes are a bit large so I had to use tape to fill in the hole a bit as the lights kept falling out, but that was an easy fix.

These are fine on the tree or attached to greenery across a mantel or over a doorway, but I'd planned to use them over a Christmas village, and the heavy green wires wouldn't look too good there. Also, each individual reindeer and the sleigh need to be hung separately. Again, that's not a problem on the tree, but isn't ideal for my intended use. It depends on what you plan to do with them whether they'll be right for you, but they're so cute that I don't regret buying them even though they won't work in the location I'd hoped to use them in.

I ended up buying two of these and returned one. The first set was soft plastic with plug on the reindeer end. I need the plug to be on the sleigh side, which many people said the plug on theirs was. I took a chance and ordered a second set hoping for a sleigh side plug. The plug was on the sleigh side but the rest of the product was completely different. Instead of soft plastic, the sleigh and reindeers were a hard plastic with a visible seam on the sleigh. Both the sleigh and reindeers were smaller on the second set. The second set had easy to remove/replace bulbs whereas the soft plastic version has bulbs that I haven’t been able to remove so far else I would just restring the lights with the plug on the sleigh side. The hard plastic set seems breakable if dropped whereas the soft plastic would not break. Very odd that two versions of this set are being sold. I decided to keep the larger, soft plastic set. It is very cute!

The reindeer are great...they light up well. The santa is horrible. It has 2 bulbs in it and still lights up poorly. The paint used on the sleigh does not let the light through. They should have used transleucent paint. If you don't plan lighting it up, it will be fine. Also it would have been better if it had 9 reindeer (there is no Rudolph).

Santa and his reindeer top my tree this year and everyone, absolutely everyone, who drops by smiles when s/he sees it! The best!
