This two-disc compilation of James Darren's first four albums is outstanding in every way, from the overall crisp remastering to the helpful liner notes indicating 45-rpm single Colpix catalogue numbers and US and UK chart positions for applicable tracks. Jimmy's vocal stylings are clearly articulated--the influence of his friend Frank Sinatra is evident throughout--and, Stella Adler-trained actor that he is, he commits to every song, whether it's Jule Styne's swinging "There's No Such Thing," Johnny Mercer and Gordon Jenkins's wistful "P.S. 1959年リリースの初アルバムから1962年の4番めのアルバムまでを収めて、2013年にCD化。ディスク1、2にそれぞれアルバム2枚分の計24曲とボーナストラック1ずつ、合計50曲で、素敵な曲がいっぱいあります。ポップスとバラードが中心で、ジャズやロックンロールもあり、曲調はバラエティに富んでいます。それらを、さわやかに、時に甘く、時に小気味よく、また時にベリーベリーキュートに（例えば、”I DON'T WANNA LOSE YA”） 歌っていて、とても楽しくて気に入りました。よくある美声というのとは少し違う特徴のあるいい声と、てらいのない歌い方で、心地よい響きです。大人の雰囲気で細部まで磨き込んだようなアルバム”BECAUSE OF YOU”（2001年）も素晴らしいですが、若さあふれるジェームズ・ダーレンもとても魅力があります。
