High quality at great price point
Received our new TCL and it was delivered with great care. Packaged extremely well, you would never know it was delivered, the box was fully intact just as if we picked it up ourselves. The picture is amazing, the colors are crisp and the TV speakers have great sound even before adding to the surround sound receiver. Setup was extremely easy, connected right to our Google account within a couple of minutes. The WiFi connection works really well, we haven't noticed any lag time. This TV has a lot of bang for your buck, it's a great buy.

Problems straight out of the box
After extensive research, I selected this tv because of the QLED, Google tv interface, as well as the fact that it was in my ideal price point. Many tv buffs also suggested this tv as you would get the most bang for your buck. Alas, I was excited to finally set this up and enjoy such a vibrant picture.Immediately after unboxing, it all goes wrong. First of all- it was shipped in the regular box. This is fine, albeit risky, and the box was slightly damaged. Nonetheless, the tv was unharmed. We go through the trouble of mounting it, and the tv turns on and sets up without issue. Updates, signing in, downloaded apps, etc. However, not long after that, the tv freezes crashes and reboots to the TCLlogo and Google TV splash screen. Homepage is cluttered with ads and takes an unbearably long time to load, only to crash again. We stopped touching the remote just to allow the tv to figure itself out and even then it was crashing. When it settled enough to go into settings, another crash.Mind you, the crashing and rebooting easily takes a good 8 or so seconds. Not terribly long, but incredibly frustrating to get this every single time you go into another app or try to move around the Home Screen. We had better luck using my Roku device as one of the HDMI outputs, but even if you stuck to that, you’re still likely going to get delays when even turning on the tv. Also has issues with always playing the tv speakers even when you have your sound system hooked up. You’ll have to manually mute the tv to get it to work. The last straw was when the tv froze to the point that it wouldn’t even turn off. Had to manually unplug it. Complete crap in a box. Whether it was a processor issue or just bad luck, it was very clear that you get what you pay for. If you’re in the market for a decent tv with a good picture, do not settle for this under any circumstances. I almost feel lucky that the tv instantly crapped out so I could return it and get something better from Sony. The bad far outweighs the good when it comes we to this television. I will never purchase a TCL ever again.

A Great Budget 4K TV
So far I'm very satisfied with this TV. Easy setup and navigation. All the apps load quickly and every movie/show I've watched looks great. Even the sound is pretty good.Only one real issue is the auto switching to gaming mode on PS5 is buggy. It would keep switching in and out of gaming mode making it impossible to play. I "fixed" it by just turning auto switching off so that feature is a bust. That being said, it does save settings across different inputs so it's not a big deal. Just thought I'd mention it. And the games do look and run beautifully.

Best bang for your buck
You gotta know what you're buying here, and that is QLED on the cheap. Picture quality is great. Not perfect, and your top tier OLED's are better, but for the price, this can't be beat. VRR, Dolby Vision, HDR, etc. The one downside is that the panel is 60Hz. I have the TV hooked up to my HTPC playing mostly .mkv rips of blu-rays and some free content like YouTube. If this TV was 600 or more, I'd give it 4 stars, but at 400 currently for the 50", you can't go wrong if you know what you're getting into. I don't use any of the TV's smart features, so I can't speak to those. Appliances spying on me? Ha! I think not.

Excellent Picture Quality at a Great Price
This checked all the boxes for me. Picture quality is excellent, especially after tweaking some settings. The Google TV OS runs fine after initial setup, which takes a bit. Considering the price, this is a lot of TV for the money. The only concessions I made were 3 HDMIs (I wanted 4), and the 60hz panel (I wanted 120hz). However, those are not realistic expectations for a 75" below $800. I considered the Hisense U6G, but passed considering they now use an IPS panel in the 75". I much prefer the VAs.
