Versatile and effective retro-fit option
This is a surprisingly good little device for controlling existing blinds. I have a number of Somfy smart electric blinds, which are extremely well made and well designed and somewhat expensive, but needed a solution for an existing vertical blind. Given the fairly reasonable price of this device, and the fact that this sort of thing seems to be ubiquitous from various different sellers with varying reviews, I wasn't sure what the quality would be like. In fact, this particular motor seems to be very good.Pros:1) It seems to be well built, and comes with everything needed, including screws, fixings, and a template for drilling, or, alternatively, 3M tape to stick it up with. There's even a little plastic widget for pressing the recessed on/off/pairing button.2) The included zigbee and bluetooth hub is unlocked and should therefore work with any zigbee product that has not been locked down by its manufacturer, which is a bonus as it opens up all sorts of possibilities for smart devices and sensors etc. The hub is usb-powered and very small - smaller than a square drinks coaster and about twice as thick. (NB, it doesn't currently support zigbee 3.0).3) The motor has a decent amount of torque. It easily manages an approximately 130 cm wide and 2m long vertical blind.4) The motor is very quiet. I had feared a rather noisy graunchy thing but it actually runs very smoothly and, if anything, is slightly quieter than the Somfy roller blind motors. The speed can't be altered, but it's perfectly fine as it is.5) It's possible to set a favourite position, similar to the Somfy My position. This is a partial opening of the blind to the position you like or need, which can then be used in automations or through a single button press on the motor, remote or app.6) There are multiple control options: physical buttons on the actual motor, a handheld remote which can control up to 15 devices, an app, and the option to use voice control through things like Google Home, Alexa, and Siri.7) Setup is straightforward and fairly simple. The videos provided by Quoya are very clear and helpful. It's worth registering before beginning, as they recommend, as they will then provide support if needed during installation. There's a QR code option for quick registration. The only info they require is name and email address.8) Quoya support is extremely helpful, should you get stuck or have a problem at any point.9) The three year warranty suggests Quoya have confidence in the build quality of their products.Cons.1) For a vertical blind (or a slatted blind), a slight drawback is that a single motor can evidently only control a single cord, so you can opt to have it open and close, or you can opt to have it tilt the louvres/slats. Alternatively two motors would give full smart control. I've left the louvres on mine in the closed, ie, overlapping, position, so that when the blind is closed it is fully closed, and the motor has no problem opening and closing like that.2) The only other negative I can think of is that the rechargeable battery will eventually die, and it's not clear whether it can be replaced. Quoya recommend charging the battery every couple of months, so that it doesn't fall below 20%, in order to maximise its lifespan. There doesn't seem to be a way to read the battery charge level, so that two months suggestion is presumably based on one opening in the morning and one closing in the evening, and might therefore need to be more frequent if it's a blind that is opened and closed a lot.Overall this is a great option to add smarts to a blind. Once set up it can do everything you would expect including eg, automated opening and closing at your choice of minutes before or after sunrise and sunset, or automatic closing to add shade to a room if the outdoor temperature goes above a certain degree, and then, if you like, automated opening when it cools down again (if you're happy to give the app your location so that it can find your local sunrise and sunset times and weather data). One can also add zigbee sensors that will monitor eg, light or sunlight level, indoor temperature, and assorted other things, and use the information from those sensors to control the blind.Using Google Home, or presumably Alexa and Siri, it can be joined into routines and automations with any other (eg, non-zigbee) smart devices you have, and with whatever triggers your home assistant allows.I'm far more impressed than I expected to be with this smart motor, and think it compares very favourably to Somfy in many respects, as a reasonably priced* retro-fit alternative (*I paid seventy five pounds for the MC11 version).

Makes a dumb blind smart!
Let's start with the negatives:It's louder than I thought it would be - not overly loud but you can definitely hear the motor. It's slower than I thought it would be too - it would have been nice if it had a speed option but I guess it needs to go at a safe speed so that it causes no damage.I also had a lot of issues connecting it to the app on my android phone - i have no idea if this is due to android or my phone (although running the latest update and is a pixel 7 pro) but it just wouldnt connect to wifi. Thankfully I have an ipad - on iOS it connected first time. Luckily, once I had got it added to the app and paired up all I had to do was install the app on other phones and tablets for the family, log in, and it was there ready to use.Now for the pros:It came with a card for you to scan to register the device for a 3 year warranty (awesome) and video instructions for installing, setting the limits, pairing the remote, pairing the app, linking with alexa/google home, and setting routines -- the videos made it a lot easier than trying to understand written instructions.Installation was very easy - choose the right cog, screw it to the wall, set the limits - done. I did have a few issues with the app as mentioned, but everything else was easy.Hint: when using alexa without creating any routines you have to say "Alexa, set [device name] to [percentage amount e.g. 50%]" -- it doesn't understand "close/open"But with routines in Alexa you can create your own voice commands - such as "close blinds"... if you have set the routine to close 100% then it will do that.NOTE: you can change the direction of the motor - when we installed our it was reversed for our blind...but once connected to the app you can click "more" and choose for the motor to go forward or backwards to correspond with the directional buttons on the device or remoteOur blind is a day and night blind which is 130cm wide and it manages this ok.We also have ours set to a schedule to open automatically in the morning and close at night.I'll be buying more because my mum loves them - she's elderly and it means she doesnt have to remember about closing them at night...she also doesnt have to stand there opening and closing (it's a floor to ceiling window)...she's also got the option to use the remote, voice, or the appI just wish the app had a blind option - the confusing thing is you have to add it as a curtain and the app animation is a curtain...not a huge issue as it still worksoh... forgot to mention - this device is powered by the mains. Personally I wanted this option because it means i dont have to worry about changing batteries.

Never worked. Completely DOA
I was never able to get the motor to even run, let alone attach it to a shade. Completely DOA, and seems like a common issue.

Die Anleitung ist sehr hilfreich. Schnell installiert.

robusto e forte , consigliato
The media could not be loaded. Consigliatissimo !
