Math Mammoth Grade 5-A Worktext Paperback – April 5, 2013

I see a lot of unverified users posting trash ...This math is not boring. If you need animation, etc - this is not for you. The instructions are clear & kids who are independent learners will flourish most. There is a lot of work in these lessons - especially if you do the review work, extra worksheets, etc. All can be purchased. My kids love MM. It is comparable to Singapore w/o al the colorful cartoon imagery. You can have children - as with textbook, write the problems out & complete. I've used Singapore & Pearson (very expensive) & found artwork to be the main difference, other than MM doesbt require child write or problems. Again, this is easily fixed by a sidesheet. If you need extra work - guess what? ...You do extra work. It is a lot of work/questions.I see quite a few homeschool moms complain- particularly after CC update. These are political posts, not honest reviews.

We started with this series when my 7th grader was in 1st grade, and I really like it. I'm confused by the reviews that say there isn't adequate explanation. The very thing I love is that everything is explained well-- I like math okay, but I'm no math wiz. I didn't buy from Amazon. I spent the extra money for color because that's still important to my daughter, and bought through Rainbow Resources. I'm only disappointed that we'll have to look for another program for 8th grade.
