Sally McNight smoked a billiard pipe she packed with tobacco and cloves. "Since I's old nuff to swim, I been paddlin' and I don't warsh no dishes nor clothes." The print from an original watercolor by me, Barry Singer. Ready to pop into a standard 8 X 10 frame. Image size is 5 1/2 X 6 1/2 with a white border. final size is 8X10. Here's the story of the poem: I often engage my children in my work. my oldest son, Matthew, is a mechanical engineer but we all recognize his ability to write. He seldom does. Once I bugged him to write a poem for me about a girl who goes fishing with the guys and can keep up with them in every way. The weekend of his visit went by and we never mentioned my request again. He left. The next day I was straightening up my studio and saw what looked like a scrap of paper on the floor. It was the poem. I loved it, and made the watercolor.
