This is the last sight pusher tool you will ever need to buy. Highly versatile with it's angled and straight pusher blocks, this tool works on almost any dovetailed pistol sight. Built in America by Americans using American material, this is a quality tool you will be proud to own. The secure clamping design of the tool locks onto the slide for maximum stability to make the process as easy as possible. Simply clamp tool onto slide, twist the bolt using the included Allen key, and the pusher block easily and safely pushes the sight out of the dovetail. Installation is just as easy! Bolt pushing system allows for fine positioning of the sight the first time and makes alignment a breeze. **Please note, if your pistol has a safety located on the slide next to the rear sight, safety will have to be removed to allow tool to properly clamp onto slide. If your sights are fixed to the slide or screwed in this tool will not work. Please check manufacturer specifications to make sure you can remove your sight. Tool works with dovetail sights that are not fixed.**

Not best choice for 1911 front sight installation
I bought this Universal Sight Pusher for my 1911 to install a new Novak front sight and the setup does not work well with the limited side surface area of a front end 1911 slide because it wants to rotate at an angle due to not having a top to bottom side flat surface to hold and keep the 1911 slide vertical throughout the front sight installation. So I had to push the base rods all the way in on one side and use the flat surface of the Sight Pusher frame on one side to hold the slide mostly vertical, but I did manage to install the sight, but the pusher block scratched the top surface area in front of the slide. So this particular Universal Sight Pusher Tool by Outdoorworx is not a best choice for a 1911 front sight install. I suspect it works well for a Glock pistol for instance with all flat side surfaces from top to bottom on each side and from end to end. So I would avoid this particular Universal Sight Pusher for 1911 front sight installation until and unless they modify it to work better for 1911's.

High quality and value alternative to common sight pushers
Bought one of these to install rear sights on two Gen 4 Glock 19's. We also purchased another Sight Pusher from a competitor that we did not use.Setup was simple, with no damage given to the slide. 4 points of contact ensured that the slide was locked still as the tool did its work. Compared to the slightly cheaper competitors tool, this one appears much more high quality with great attention being paid to its construction - I did not pay professional price but still enjoyed professional performance while aligning my sights.I would purchase this again with no hesitation and would recommend this product over anyother to anyone looking to install their own dovetail style handun sights.

Best Bang for you Buck!
There are more expensive ones that do the job well too, but this one worked great. Lot's of adjustments to pay attention too - and make sure you add leather or some plastic to protect your slide from the metal holders, but did great on my S&W M&P 40 Shield. In fact, I used it to fix my front site that another brand bent, and then readjusted using a bore site. Worth the $ if you want to save a trip to the gunsmith (which put mine on originally and they were misaligned) or have multiple guns to put the sites on with.

Pretty simple tool and it works well.
I've installed sights on more than a dozen pistols using a vise, punches, and a hammer. It's time consuming and not much fun. I just changed the sights on a S&W M&P in under an hour using this sight pusher. It was pretty easy. It would have gone faster but I didn't position the front sight quite right and had to readjust it. Part of this time was also spent figuring out how to use the tool. Some people commented that the instructions were hard to follow, but I didn't read the instructions. If you just play with it for a few minutes you'll figure out how it works.I was hesitant to buy this due to some of the poor reviews and this is a pretty inexpensive tool compared to the alternatives. I didn't wrap the slide in any type of protective wrap and there was no damage/marks on the sight or slide. I made sure the slide was secure, but I took care not to over tighten the set screws. All in all, this tool was well worth the cost. This was the easiest sight change I've ever done.I swapped out an old version of Truglow TFO sights with a set of Ameriglo Pro I-dot tritium sights. I'll be reviewing these separately, if you're interested.

It worked perfectly for removing & installing my rear sight on my G19.
Worked perfectly! Took me 5 min to change the sight on my G19. With all the negative reviews out there, I was wondering how something so basic could be so difficult. It isn't!!! It's a common sense setup. People who have difficulty using this Sight Pusher must to be mechanically challenged.

Oil guide rod first!!!!!!!!!!
While pushing my new Trijicon steel sights into my glock 19, the grey "site pusher" piece bound up on the rod it travels on and damaged the rod, leaving a big groove in it. The "site pusher" piece, would no longer move on the rod. I had to remove the rod, grind down the ridge it made, and reassemble. I highly recommend oiling the guide rod to prevent this, and periodically backing the site pusher back out and then forward again while installing the site, to ensure it's not binding up. I did eventually get the site pushed in after my repair, but now I wish I would have just paid a gunsmith the $25 to install the sights for me and saved the $66 I paid for the tool.

It works
I've used this tool to install AmeriGlo sights on a G20, and G19 as well as Big Dots on a G26. It makes centering the sight very easy. Using calipers you can get exactly centered if you need more than eyeball precision.
