Initial impressions is awesome!
I have not used this tool just yet as I need to make my way to the range first. I have installed several sights over the years using a small hammer and aluminum/brass punches. While it works, it is a bit of a chore and there is a high risk of marring the slide or sight. So, I finally buckled down and purchased a dedicated sight tool. I plan to use it to zero my pistols and install/swap out night sights as their tritium decays. As far as this tool, it is definitely robust! Doesn’t feel cheap by any means. Every part that touches the slide is either a soft plastic or has a soft plastic cap to prevent scratches. I like the top adjust feature as it makes sure the pistol is level so equal pressure is applied (in theory as I haven’t used it yet) to the sight. It comes with all the needed Allen keys and as a bonus it comes with extra plastic nibs, a front sight removal tool and a small drift (both tools required if you plan to work on any Glocks). Overall a very nice setup at a great price. I plan to come back and update once I use it, but as of right now I am very impressed.

Might not be the sight pusher you are looking for...
tl;dr: robust, and communicates push well, not enough left/right space to insert remove sights, won't work for long sights like TruGlo TFX as you can't line up the dovetail in the center (or even close) to the center of the pusher.WHY I BOUGHT: Ordered due to value, and looked like it was beefy and would communicate the force of the push well, and with less effort than other models. All true.FIRST IMPRESSION: Product delivered did not match picture I bought. Bag had different logo (older model?), and plastic/nylon protective inserts and slide locks were black, not white, making them harder to see. I never like getting something that is not exactly what I ordered. Further, when I first opened the bag, I immediately saw that the main body had been damaged and had sharp edges and large heavy gouges as if someone either seriously abused it, or quality control was very poor! I don't like cutting my fingers on a sharp edge caused by the product being damaged prior to me getting it. I was further disappointed in that the tools appeared to be shoved into the foam wrong, as if a returned product, or they were shoved in without care damaging the ability of that foam to retain the tools properly. It was clearly not packed with care. Pulling the tools out, I was confused at first by the extra front sight tool, not in the picture, as well as one of the hex keys not matching the others and appearing to be worn (it was black unlike the silver finish of the others, and picture). Again, making me wonder, but it fit. The nylon/plastic protectors were glued in sloopy, and one fell off completely. Finally, the plastic side slide clamps clearly looked like someone had clamped them down, rather than just finger tight as they should be used.FUNCTION: It does work, but there is a problem. If you attempt to remove a stock Glock Model 22 (full size frame), rear sight, there is not enough clearance to completely push it off the dovetail, and it begins to force it up when there is no clearance left in the tool. You then have to take the bottom off to remove the slide and then try to manually remove the sight the rest of the way! This sort of defeats the purpose. If the inner dimension of the tool was larger, than this would not be an issue. The reverse is sadly also true, you must "start" a rear sight into the dovetail a significant amount before you can insert it into the tool due to clearances.THE UGLY: With a rear sight such as a TruGLO TFX, which is longer, you cannot use this tool at all because the length of the sight will hit the rear of the tool and prevent you from lining up the center of the dovetail with the pusher (by a huge amount) meaning you cannot safely push the slide, or you risk serious problems. Finally, there is no way to ensure that the slide is precisely perpendicular to the pusher (a common problem with lower priced pushers), but with a bit of inginuity and shims, you can fix this problem. :)OVERALL: If you don't need to put on long sights like I did, or something special for say a dovetail mount dovetail, this might be a great option for you. If you need a more general solution with the ability to do a wide range of guns, this might not be the pusher you were looking for.

It was sooooo easy with this tool!
I literally researched different sight pushers and hundreds of reviews before i finally took a chance on this one. I have a glock 43 and i needed to get rid of the plastic oem glock sights. they were as bad as I had ever heard. Anyway, I did a ton of research on new sights and finally settled on Vickers Elite combat sights. I had no idea how hard it would be to put the rear sight on without a pusher tool. The front sight was no issue as it screwed on, but I really marred the rear sight trying to hammer it on. So now i had this beautiful new g43 with a noticeably marred rear sight. I just couldn't stand it so i reordered the rear sight and and after hours of research i ordered this sight pusher from Sylvan Arms. it was sooooo easy with this tool. the ability to fine tune the rear sight to bullseye accuracy is a cinch. Now if i ever change any of the sights on my other two pistols, i can bypass the gunsmith completely. And Im the kind of guy who likes to work on my own guns to customize them to fit me perfectly. You will not regret this product and its sturdy enough to last several lifetimes! The carrying case makes it easy to carry to the range. Just grab and go!

NEED MORE SPACE
This product is excellent and easy to use. 1 major problem is reinstalling the new sights. There isn't enough room to push the new sight. It must be manually pushed half way on to the slide. This kind of defeats the purpose of a sight pusher.

Excellent Tool
As a neophyte gunsmith, this tool is invaluable! I can't believe people beat on their sights with a hammer and punch when this tool does an excellent job. I took it to my gunsmithing class and my classmates were waiting in line to use it on their projects. I have used it on all brands of 1911's, S&W 686, Ruger SP101 and my Sig Sauer collection. This tool, combined with a laser bore sight, allows you to get your pistols very accurate without the risk of breaking your tritium night sight vials.I have found that it is much easier to align front sights by turning the plate 180 degrees. The developer spent a lot of time also focusing on ways to ensure you do not mar your firearm by the protective cushioning they have installed on the sight pusher. In my opinion, this is money well spent, the product is well made and is extremely sturdy. The padded carrying case that holds the sight pusher and the required allen wrenches is a plus.I would definitely buy again and once I open my gunsmithing shop, I will buy more.
