Barbara Walker knitting stitch dictionary
This book is loaded with different stitches and cables. I had been eyeing this book up and couldn't make up my mind whether or not you decide to purchase it! Got it in three days which is amazing! Happy knitting! 🧶🧶🧶

Charted patterns are SOMETIMES best
I purchased this book thinking it would be similar to the first two Treasuries, but ended up being a bit disappointed. There are plenty of new patterns, of course, but much less than I'd hoped for, and many of them are (in my opinion) unattractive and unusable. Many of the cable patterns fall into this category, and some of the novelty patterns are just weird. The spider is wonderfully life-like, but I just don't know of anyone who wants a big, lifelike, textured spider knitted into their garments. This was my introduction (and a good one, I believe) to charted patterns. My current obsession is cables, and many (though not all) cabled patterns work VERY well when charted in this way. They make much more sense to me than the written instructions using codes such as FC, FPC, SBC, etc. I've been taking many other cable patterns and charting them on graph paper using the patterns in this book as guidelines.Bottom line - worth getting, but not nearly as indispensible as the first two.

Great, clear easy to read patterns. A true treasure
Can't go wrong with any of these books. I have the 1st 2 and am trying complete my collection. I turn to these all the time.

Can't do without.
I cannot live without this book. The information is clear. The photos are black and white, but I have no problem with that. This part of the treasury is a fabulous book in and of itself. The instructions clear and different. I do not find this a redundant stitch bible in the least. I do not know a knitter who does not have this marked up in her/his collection, or does not want it. I will never part from it. Even with at least fifteen other stitch bibles. This is one of the ten books I would take to an island. Provided I can take a lifetimes worth of yarn and needles.

If you are a chart lover, buy it!
I purchased this book just for the cool spider pattern, but the rest of the patterns were just as wonderful. I prefer charts to written instructions, and this book has excellent charts of patterns you won't see elsewhere. I will be saving up to purchase the others in the series.

Love the series - a must for any knitter that wants to learn new techniques and expand their knowledge
Already owned the entire series. Purchased this to replace a copy that has been lost. The internet is a great knitting resource, but you really can't beat having Barbara Walkers hard copy books at your fingertips. I must say that the only thing that would make it better is to have a digital copy of the book as well. Having the ability to search and find what you want in an instant would be a dream. However, I also love just picking up the books and browsing all of the differnt stitch patterns for inspiration.

Good addition to the stitch library.
I have the other three treasury of knitting patterns books as well. I can't say that this is my favorite among them as everything is in harder to read charts, but the stitch patterns are neat and I'm sure I'll find something to make with them.

Not used to the instruction method.
Bought this book to reproduce a specific pattern of an acanthus leaf so that a missing blanket square could be knitted to finish a blanket for a charity. Had difficulties with the method used for the pattern instructions which are in a coded grid with the codes being explained at the beginning of the book. Ended up translating them into a format I understand and can follow. Think the system used is American so may not suit British knitters.

Essential addition to a knitter's library
First, delivery. It came the following day, much to my delight and surprise.Secondly; information for knitters. Chapters on textured patterns (essentially knit and purl sts); two chapters on cable designs of the extremely twisted and intense type; more lace patterns, both panel and all-over, not included in her previous books, further mosaic patterns which were Barbars Walker's alternative to stranded (fair isle) knitting, and more colour knitting options. The book's illustrations are in black and white however. Every pattern has its chart. All printed in readable size font. I now have all four of her books, and I refer to them constantly.

All four of Barbara Walkers books are in my opinion a must for every knitting designer and/or knitting enthusiasts. Not that you necessary need to use the patterns as is, but as a pleased inspiration. Browse the books and your next project starts to take form in your mind.I love them all four in this collection.

Fine looking book
Fine looking book, except from one corner on the back of the book, that had been bent ( because of that only 4 stars). A lot of patterns, I can't wait to try.
