GoodSense Esomeprazole Magnesium Delayed Release Capsules 20 mg, Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI), Frequent Heartburn Treatment, 42 Count

Have to take this for a hiatal hernia and Barrett’s eosophagus. I still had heartburn taking this and actually had to start taking tums or even Zantac at bedtime too. I also had episodes of waking up at night choking on acid, which is terrifying. I got a big bottle of gaviscon to try too. I figured my hernia was getting much worse and made an appt with the GI doc. I’m the meantime I used up my supply of this and the only thing available to me at the time was brand name nexium which I started taking.Surprise- no more breakthrough heartburn. No more nighttime acid wake ups. Taking brand name nexium fixed the problems I was having.This doesn’t work as well as it should and I may have done myself some real damage taking it. I cannot reccomend it and if you have a serious condition and your generic medicine doesn’t seem to be working don’t be a dummy like me, assume it’s you not the drug, and keep taking junk because it’s cheaper.I’ll ask amazon for a refund but I expect an argument since I got a >30 day supply. A big lesson for me.This generic version medication is NOT a good drug. I’d give no stars if I could.

I found that Nexium (Esomeprazole) works much better for me than Prilosec (Omeprazole). Given that chemically they are ALMOST the same thing, it was surprising. In any event I used Nexium for years.The GoodSense Esomeprazole works as well as Nexium, and at about half the price! Will be buying this from now on.

I've been on Nexium (40mg) for GERD and Barrett's about 20-some years and have never had any negative issues with it. Its always worked great for me. MY insurance company recently stopped providing benefits for Nexium and tried to get me on Omeprezole (pseudo-prilosec). I'm here to tell you, at least for me, Prilosec and Nexium ARE NOT the same! After one month on 40mg generic prilosec, I had issues with GERD at night (waking me up) and always a faint headache. Now, after paying for generic Nexium and using it for about a week, I can say I haven't had the middle of the night wake ups and the headaches are GONE! I guess I'm one of those Nexium poster boys...nothing else works for me.

I am on prescription Nexium and have used the OTC brand name Nexium as well as well as this generic as backup when my mail order Rx company screws up (often.) This generic esomeprazole works just as well as the brand name OTC and other generics (prescription + OTC.)

So I have had acid reflux for a little over a year now. My doctor recommended that I take nexium after Prilosec stopped working as well. I can tell you that this generic brand of Nexium has been nothing short of spectacular! Starts working after a couple days & since I started taking it my acid reflux has almost stopped entirely. I drink quite a bit of beer & eat Spicey food. If you have frequent headaches & sore throats & also acid reflux I would try this to see if it helps resolve the other two.
