It works!!
We had mice get into our grill and built their own dreamhouse during the winter. After thoroughly cleaning and removing our uninvited guests, we used the repellent balls under our grill cover to keep them from wanting to come back. They worked! We also use them in the garage to keep them out during colder months!

What is that smell!
A few things, this is super easy to use. You just year the little bag slightly and place the balls wherever you need too.Huge downfall.... they reak! Really bad! I don't like the smell at all. I put them in my garage. And oh man, does it stink!I can't tell you if the product is working, I've only had this for a few days! But I'm tempted on tossing them. Because I can't handle the smell.

Stinks literally AND figuratively
Maybe you're like me: maybe you've already bought these and are thinking, "I can't use these smelly things, what a waste of money that was." For you, i have some feeble recommendations (they're at the end).Or maybe you're like me several weeks ago, before i bought the rodent balls, and you're thinking, "I know what peppermint oil smells like -- it couldn't POSSIBLY be as bad as the reviews say; and besides, the stuff is going to be in the basement, so... pfft." For you -- and for anyone else considering a purchase -- i have a cautionary tale... and the same feeble recommendations, i guess. The TL;DR of this tale is that from where i sit, these balls are "all con, no pro." ZERO stars. I thought these were gonna be similar to the peppermint packs i'd already tried, the ones that are like little sachets, you know the ones i mean. When i opened the plastic wrapper on the first ball, the scent seemed mild to me, so i opened up three more to scatter around the basement. When my mom got up a few hours later, she asked, "what smells like peppermint?" Things to note here: (1) my mom is 87 years old, (2) she's been a smoker for about 70 years, and (3) her bedroom is waaaaay up on the 2nd floor. That night after we'd all gone to bed, mom woke me up to ask me to get rid of the rodent balls; the smell was making her so sick she couldn't sleep, her sinuses felt like they were being burned, and she was worried the fumes would harm her dog. To be clear, i do NOT believe the dog was ever in any danger -- in fact if it bothered him at all, he didn't let on -- i'm just illustrating how dramatic her reaction was... and again: this was the reaction of a 7-decade smoker who was 2 floors away from the source of the stench.I feel it's important to mention that this noxious odor is NOT peppermint, at least not entirely; Mom says it also smells like garlic, i say it also smells like mothballs. The ingredient list on the back of the bag (pictured) doesn't mention garlic or naphthalene, but it also doesn't mention anything that could create that kind of powerful toxic-like aroma, so i dunno what's going on there. I've dealt with pure peppermint oil on many occasions, and this smell is NOT that.Did you notice the back of the bag says "keep it away from children"? In addition to being a little grammatically weird, this instruction seems to contradict the claim that this product is "safe for pets and children." Maybe they meant "safe (as long as you keep it away from them)"... but, really, you could say that about pretty much anything. Ninja stars, soldering irons, anthrax... safe for pets and children! So anyway, about 5 weeks ago, i dropped a rodent ball down inside the vermin's favorite wall (and it remained there when i picked up the others because, well, it's down inside a wall). About 2 weeks after that, i saw a mouse in the kitchen; it retreated directly into the very wall where the rodent ball still sits, still stinks. This morning i heard tiny feet skittering about inside that same wall. FAIL.In fact, after using this stuff, i've concluded that someone in Suavec's graphics department got confused when creating the product illustrations, and matched up the wrong images with the wrong captions. I took the liberty of rearranging a few of the presented elements into an illustration that i feel better reflects reality. Hopefully it won't get taken down for being too hilarious. Now, if after hearing all this you still want to use these things in your home -- like because you already bought them, so why not, or because you have some relatives visiting and you'd like them to leave & never come back -- i have some recommendations* for you:1) Use ONE at a time.2) Don't open the plastic wrapper; instead, poke a hole in it, or snip off a corner with a pair of scissors.3) Don't place a rodent ball in an inaccessible location until you're SURE you won't regret it (either because you can't stand the smell, or because you didn't poke a big enough hole in the wrapper).4) Don't place a rodent ball near any appliance designed to circulate air through the house (in our case, the offending appliance was the furnace, but i imagine a central air conditioner might produce similar results).5) Don't be fooled by that illustration showing four parts of your home in which these stink bombs could be used: 2 bombs per room /might/ be okay for your pristinely-tiled Porsche showroom garage, or your luxury-appointed finished basement with the 10-foot ceilings... but in your kitchen and/or bedroom? That's, like, a cruel joke or something. You'd never eat and/or sleep again.*Note that these recommendations are intended only to help you mitigate the stench; i have no good ideas for using the rodent balls to repel rodents. Maybe as projectiles? ...Nah. You could definitely find something a lot less human-repellent to throw at your rats. ...Like ninja stars! Safe for pets and children!

Rodents Repellent
This product is awesome. I experienced a few field mice outdoors and tried several related rodents repellent that simply didn't work. I tried this product one time and in a short period of time the field mice rodents were gone. I've purchased this product numerous of times in the past and will do so in the future. I've also informed others of this awesome product and they too have experienced the same great results. Thanks

USE ANY TIME
Each one of the balls is individually packaged and holds its scent. I used them in my garage and haven't noticed the mouse any longer in the house. Still waiting it's been two weeks so maybe clear???Recommended

They smell like strong peppermint and WORK!
I used this in our RV. We have had mice issues for years after we closed it up for the winter, and they move in! There is mouse droppings everywhere and a nest here and there. This season I went in and January and sure enough--poop everywhere. D-con was gone but not the mice (never ending supply I guess!). I got a bag of these, cleaned up the mouse poo, and dropped one here and there throughout the RV. Just checked and I see NO mouse droppings in over 3 months! So happy. They are quite strong smelling, but it's just peppermint! I don't get the big aversion to the smell. Yea, we'll have to air it out good, but worth it!

No more mice
3.5 years in my current home located in woodlands. Have a shed out back and that's been plagued with 2 types of mice since Day 1. Hundreds of dollars in damage to pool floats and they ate 9 lager holes in a custom inground safety pool cover necessitating expensive repairs. I tired everything from spring traps to bait block, to glue boards and pellets. Nothing worked until I tried these balls. 9 days and not a single mouse, no new damage, no mouse turds, no scurrying mice when I open the door. I used 4 of them. They have a low level odor that is strange but they really seem to do the trick. Need to order more for the garage and crawl space. I will post an update once it gets cold and they really try to invade.
